[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

This morning, I woke up. Good sign. First thing I hear, well, catch on the news was that Dallas won the Stanley cup. This, of course being two days after the fact. Tells you how much I was out of it on Sunday.

Reading the paper (which I also got yesterday) I came across an article about some guy having sex with some kid from the Internet. These cases always intrigued me since the Internet is such a mask when it comes to physical appearance, weight, size, height, race, gender.. the only thing that's left is how well you can type. I can see how you can go for someone knowing only the text on a screen, but I really don't see how those types of relationships could flourish. However, this may become more of the norm as people all over the world become even more connected, and even more interweaved in the net..

Unfortunately, the article had nothing to do with the Internet per se. The two actually met at Canada's wonderland and communicated via e-mail and telephone. Man, that title was a little misleading. Interesting piece of trivia from the article: Legal age of consent is 14. Fourteen?? Good lord.

"This is me in grade nine [with a] baby. Yeah, this is me in grade nine.."

Still, they apparently fell in love with each other, so what can I say to that? A girl once told me (I'm not telling you who) how she went out with some 17 or 18 year old guy (while she was 13) but there wasn't any problem because they had the same maturity level. I think that's fine, I wouldn't mind being with any girl who's as mature as me (which in my case would be way to young - always good to shoot yourself before someone else does.) but that's rare, and unlikely, and even those that seem mature, truly cannot handle the pressures of adulthood (yet). The girl in the article being a case in point. Darned those chemicals..

My previous nod to the BNL leads up to the guy who sang at the Columbus bar last week. He actually played two or three BNL tunes while we were there. ("If I had a Million Dollars", and something else..) Seems like them Americans really are listening to them..

Oh yeah, it is now officially summer, so stop (or start) complaining about the heat.

Doing a bit of marking today. Got a lab to go to tomorrow (shouldn't forget), but one of the questions in the assignment marking scheme had one of the answers wrong. It didn't affect the final answer, but I showed it to weirDo, and he calculated the value on the calculator. He exclaimed

"That's exactly Half."

So I pointed to the marking scheme and said

"And that's exactly wrong."

He said that was a quote if he heard one, so I put it here.

We finally got outside to throw the disk and the Aerobee around. Didn't improve Dusty's throwing ability too much, but it did make life a bit more interesting trying not to hit people with the Aerobee.

By the end of the day, I figured that I should go and finally get T that postcard. weirDo told me that the bookstore would have postcards and that it was closing in 7 minutes. Doh! I rushed down there and poked my head around a bit, I couldn't find anything, and it was closing down, so I asked one of the cashiers if they sold any postcards. She told me that they didn't, but that the UW store would, across the hall. Well, funny that, it just closed (Newman!). So, I took a breath and headed off to Pak Mail and hoped that they were open. Luckily, they were. Unluckily, the postcards they had were either too generic, or really sucked. They didn't have any UW postcards. In the end, I just picked up some bizarre misshapen card with two polar bears fighting, and left a message for Magnifica about how you shouldn't leave anything till the last minute. A little word of wise.

The CTRL-A meeting was fairly long, although I missed most of it. For some reason, I think that the (now acclaimed) AX editor is cute, even though she isn't.. really. *scratches head* I can't explain it. Maybe she isn't cute, but has cute mannerisms? Yeah, but the other AX editor was like that and I didn't like her. Ah.. men, what do they know?

On the way to dinner, Caroline was driving us to the Vietnamese restaurant and just before we got there, we were coming up to this car that had stopped on the side of the road. Walking up, and into this car was this most.. ah.. amazing looking girl, in a very good looking dress. I was staring, but in the background, I could hear

"Can it get any shorter?"

To which she was referring to the skirt. I hadn't noticed that it was short. I didn't think it was short.. short is good.. shorter is better! Yeah, I wasn't really paying much attention to her at that point anyway.

That's it for now, I noticed that whatsherface was in on my way back. Maybe I'll drop by and see how she's doing.. we'll see.
