For those of you who'd like to see the best bang for the buck (mostly bang) computerwise, here's a little head to head duel between ArsTechnica's God Box against ComputerNerd's POW!er 2U Dude! Computer (dubbed the Nerd Box). Quite an interesting read, and a possible forecast of how symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) will do in the future.

Read up on the Top 10 Mistakes of Web Design (compiled in 1996) - like frames.. hate the frame - and then checked out the Top-10 New Mistakes of Web Design (compiled in 1999) and I guess I'll be making a couple of changes to this site.. most you won't notice tho, unless you notice that netscrape actually stops crashing on you.. (which it probably will continue to do..)

Last night, the return trip home was quite pleasant. The temperature was quite nice actually. The moment I stepped into the house, I felt like I was walking into a sauna. It seemed as if no one had been home since that morning and I was the first one back. Gah, walking up the stairs to the upper floors only made me feel even more uncomfortable as the temperature rose with every step I took. My room.. oh, my room, being on the top floor was quite a haven for all the remaining hot air in the city (Now no jokes you people). I opened up the doors and the windows in the house and busied myself with dinner. By the time I had finished, cold air had forced itself down into the lower floors of the house, but the ejected hot air found a haven in my room. There wasn't enough circulation in the house to force this air out and the only way the house cooled down was through convection/conduction. I was too tired to wait until the cold air made it up to my room so I just went to sleep. The improvement in weather having no impact in my sleeping environment.

The trip back to school this morning was uneventful, the walk through the Davis Centre was quite interesting, halfway in, the.. uhh.. geez.. the announcing thing.. audio thing.. ack, I can't remember the name. Anyhoo, it crackled to life and immediately spat out a number of wails, like a warning klaxon. I personally didn't see any incoming enemy ships or missiles, but hey, I wasn't really paying any attention.

MJO found a broken link (actually a redirected link) on the list o' links so kudos to him.

The one student who told us that she left her prelab at home (in New Brunswick) came into my office with a copy of it for signing. Well, it wasn't the same one, but what could I do? (alright alright.. I know the possible answers, but you probably know what I did. No I didn't tell her to.. oh geez.)

Found out that our ball hockey game tomorrow has been rescheduled. Gah. Than you for the short notice. Fortunately, the game was only moved 45 minutes later, which I could handle (but now instead of missing my first volleyball game, I miss the second one.. gee.). All of the people I warned about the change in time seemed to be fine with it, so this underhanded method of trying to make us forfeit the game failed miserably.. Muhahahahaha!! (Been taking maniacal laughter 101)

I didn't see REM in the organic lab yesterday, but looking for the Kent boy about the schedule change had me wandering into the organic lab where.. well, it's pretty obvious what I'm gonna say, so I'll just say that I stayed and talked with them for a few minutes..

Now it's time I should go and obtain some milk and bread for sustenance.. I'm really getting hungry.. oh..
