[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Despite being a little warm last night, the weather was much cooler (and cloudier) this morning. Bladed to school, but it started to rain halfway there. I made it inside before I really got wet, but it was a bad sign that I might not be able to make it home on my blades.. (I'm not blading in the rain.. might ruin them)

Made it in and found that the first person in was our new student. Quite punctual that boy. Logged him in and got him started at learning Unix. I would've been able to do more productive work, except that they started working on rewiring the local subnet here in the lab. This involves a fair bit of drilling and cutting and mounting and stuff since the cables were being wired differently than the old wiring (which kinda sucked).

So, the entire morning was filled with the constant noise of drilling. Be it in wood or concrete, and boy was it ever annoying. weirDo, Dusty and I got fed up, so we went out to replenish the pop fridge (which has sat empty for more than a week now). At least I got that done and out of the way. Then we went out for lunch.

Oh my god.. I just got a phone call, and it took me a few seconds to recognize the voice. It was MJO!! Woo woo! So all the players have gathered.. Muhahahahaha!!! Unfortunately he doesn't have a camera either. Doh!

Anyway, back to the story, after lunch, I was stopped and accosted by someone before making back up to my room. Two men were waiting for me in there. They had good news for me. We've got a car! Woo hoo!! Yippee!! *much rejoicing*

Ahem. So it seems as if we will actually have a car for this little trip of ours. I was a little surprised at this and wasn't quite prepared. I guess I'll have to start phoning everyone and start packing.. as Laz would say: Oi vey.

I talked with one of the secretaries about the trip and she told me that on some of the parts that we're planning on going on, I should probably bring a book. I'll remember that.

Oh man.. I still can't really contain my excitement.. I e-mailed just about everyone I knew, and I phoned up the key players (one of which is Laz). I did get a response, from the one person I hoped would. She gave me an interesting idea, but I'll have to look into that later.

I had to go to the CTRL-A meeting (which was pretty normal - nothing too interesting), but I ended up talking with one person throughout most of the meeting, I guess to everyone else's chagrin (I didn't think I was THAT loud..). Hey, if I had a chance to talk with someone who was cute, I ain't gonna refuse.

Went to dinner at some new Vietnamese restaurant opening up in the mall. Found out that the grand opening was this Friday. Gah. Went to another Vietnamese restaurant. Came back and got a couple of calls.

Boy, this really has been an interesting day has it not? It's so hard to really convey everything that went on today, it feels as if a whole week has just gone by. Every line I mention here was an half an hour event, and there's no way I'm going to explain it all in detail. Jam packed is the best way to describe it.

I should go. There's much more I need to do, and so little time to do it in..
