Overview

Originally designed to provide close support for infantry units in the SLDF, the original HSR 200-D proved to be so fast that it was used to replace fast scout vehicles, providing better firepower and terrain handling capabilities than many of the vehicles in use. This role as a reconnaissance 'Mech has been expanded by the Clan designers. By altering the engine shielding, the engineers were able to decrease the weight of the engine while increasing it's power, install jumpjets, and add more armor to the 'Mech. The extended range large laser was also upgraded, which left enough room in the head for a targeting computer or additional electronics equipment.

The finished product is a paragon of the Clan scout 'Mech, with unmatched speed and maneuverability, coupled with moderate long range firepower and a sophisticated electronics package. The Hussar IIC is a great asset to any cluster.

Capabilities

With only a single weapons system at the 'Mech's disposal, the Hussar IIC is definitely not equipped to handle even a small fire fight. Instead, by using its speed and the OMNIWaveJammer to tap into enemy transmissions while behind enemy lines, the HSR-1E is able to disrupt most, if not all, of the orders and commands issued from the opposing forces, messing up troop movements and logistics. Its extended range large laser allows the warrior to ambush enemy supply convoys from long range with deadly accuracy. This gives the convoy little time to react and a very small chance of detecting the attacker. Although no Clan warrior has resorted to these tactics, the few Nemesis pilots who have access to the Hussar IIC seem to favor this method, if only to break the monotony of analyzing enemy transmissions.

Variants

The only other variant of this 'Mech is the HSR-1M which drops the targeting computer in favor of myomer accelerator signal circuitry. The reduction in accuracy is offset by the 'Mech's ability to escape in difficult situations. The use of MASC allows the Hussar IIC to match the speed of the Firemoth, the fastest 'Mech currently in production.
