[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Alright, alright, so it's not really Sunday but what the heck, I couldn't get a computer last night and so I have an excuse right?

Anyway.. I got to school yesterday, a bit late (we were supposed to meet at 9am, I got there 15 minutes late) but I still had to finish some of my slides. Well, I wandered upstairs to see how my last fit went and lo-and-behold, it was still running!! Ahh!! It ran all night and wasn't converged yet! Well, I couldn't do much about the slides without data so I printed out what I could and left.

I took the wheel first. RHS was the second so he kept talking to me about this and that. (While Mr. Li entertained everyone in the back - Oi). I noticed, while we were driving, an odd number of tires (well, the remains of tires) on the road. After seeing three our four in an hour, RHS told me

"So many tires, I'm getting tired of seeing so many!"

*groan*. I gave that comment three knee slaps (It was only worth two tho).

At the border, we had a little run-in with the authorities. Seemed as if a number of our passengers weren't allowed to come in unless they filled out a I-94 form (Whatever that is). No problem, we went into the Immigration and customs office and filled out the forms (well, not all of us, just those who needed to). While we were waiting, this family (one mom and two girls) came inside and "oh my god" did they make me look fat. I'm sorry, but if your entire family is that thin (they make stick figures look normal) you really should look into it. Anyhoo, maybe they can't do anything about it, but it was not something I saw too often.

Outside of Toledo (Ohio) we got hit by a huge thunderstorm after I switched places with RHS (he commented that I did that on purpose - who me??). There was a lot of lightning, but we missed the brunt of the storm. It was a very cool sight to behold tho. However, we passed by one car, some beat up jalopy, which didn't seem to have any windshield wipers. Nor did they have their lights on. Nor were they going THAT slow. Crazy American drivers..

The radio station that we had turned to (WNIC) started giving out a severe storm warning for their listening area (which we were apparently a part of)

"You're encouraged to find shelter if you're in the path of the storm."

Oh goody. Ironic that the rain stopped right after they issued that warning.

All in all, we got to Columbus in one piece. Made it just in time for registration (they closed at 6pm, we got there at 5 to 6). The we got settled into our rooms, then we had dinner. Our room had all of the air conditioning turned off so it was a little hot and stuffy. Also, the fridge was unplugged. Opening it up, it was empty, but a few seconds later, RHS caught the scent of something that had died a horrible death inside the fridge and immediately closed the thing. I didn't get a whiff until I went to open the window.. Woo Whew! That was sure some road kill!! (We also saw a lot of road kill in addition to the tires on the way down).

Then, we checked out if the labs were open (which they weren't) since I really wanted to check if my fits had finished (they probably hadn't). Ah, then sleep.. oh, blissful sleep..
