[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

I guess Theochem is back up now. I still don't know what happened last night, but I think some things aren't working properly yet (like mail). Mind you, the computer's only been up for a couple hours now, so I shouldn't expect everything to be fixed, but it's a little disconcerting.

Oh yeah, since Jax was at the game last night, I checked to see how much sodium was in the "sodium free" water: 1.8mg.

Small, but isn't "free" supposed to mean no sodium? Ah well.

Got an informative page on the difference between white and brown rice from girl. Health nuts should check it out.

Well, I got up at a fairly respectable time this morning, so I was quite happy when I got out of bed. I was all ready to go too school and do some work (before the lunch thing) when I put my hand in the dresser and.. Hmm.. I seem to be lacking something. This is not good. It seems as if I had forgotten to do laundry for the week..

Doh!

Well that sucked. It sucked even more that HNT was still home, which meant that I couldn't do laundry until he left. Mind you, it was already half-past-nine and he should've left by then. Anyway, I knocked on his door to warn him. Nothing. I knocked again. Still nothing. I could hear his radio blaring out some tunes which meant that his alarm had already gone off (it was quite loud actually) but me might've been comatose. I decided to give him half an hour. I spent that time cleaning up some accounting and other little chores which I should've done a while ago. But I quickly ran out of things to do, so after half an hour I went back downstairs to knock on the door. Nothing again. Ah screw it, I had to get to school sometime that morning, so I threw my stuff in the washer and let it rip.

I spent the time doing some other things I should've done a while ago. Cleaning up my file system, and moving some things around. Nothing too big or particularly useful, but since I had the time..

The I realized that I was supposed to meet that kid who was going to hand in the lab this morning. I knew I wasn't going to make it, so I called up the lab. I talked to weirDo who mentioned:

"You've got an hour."

But I knew:

"I won't make it."

So he made a note of that.

It was a while before I finally made it in to school. By the time I had settled down and checked in, it was time for the lunch engagement with JCYH and company. She hadn't changed much, even with the longer hair. I guess the last time I saw her was during a really hectic term and she looked just awful, so now she seems more of her usual bouncy self. It was a good meal, especially since I got to (finally) use my gift certificate. HNT wanted to set up another lunch next week, but I don't think I can handle East Side's more than once a month personally. We'll see. (BTW, we showed Perfect Blue in Fall 1998, not Winter 1998!)

Lunch came and went, and I had some time to run some fits before going to the chem-phys talk. What I was more interested in was the snow football challange I got in my e-mail a couple of days ago. Why my name was put onto the list I have no idea, but I figured, what the heck, I know some of these people so I'll check it out. The list only had a dozen or so names on it, so I didn't expect too many people to be out there, eight at the most. I wanted to make a reconnaissance run before commiting to any action so I went by a window overlooking the playing field (it's the DC quad, convieniently covered with half a foot of snow).

There were about a dozen and a half people out there. Boys and girls! Wow, I was a little surprised with the turnout, but I figured that I might as well join in. I passed by Joe on the way and convinced him to come out as well. I was a little ill equiped for playing in the snow, but heck, I'm still young, a little snow in my sneakers and jeans (and wherever it would fit) won't kill me right? I gotta say that it was pretty darned fun. Even though we were playing tackle, the snow and padding in our coats cushioned our falls so nobody was injured (too seriously).

We played for an hour or so before calling it quits. It was getting dark, and some people had already left. So here I am, sitting with my wet shoes and socks, wondering if they'll turn to ice blocks on my way back home. Well, it was worth it!

Sparky's got something new up. A little sadder news, but somewhat serendipitous. All I can say to Sparky is:

"You did the right thing."

*pats Sparky on the head*

Alright, it's time for me to go. These wet shoes and socks are starting to bother me. I want to go home.

Oh yeah, I think it's tomorrow, but just incase I forget, Happy Chinese New Years! Yay! The year of the rabbit is over!
