[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

Man, I got into school before ten this morning.. I actually woke up before nine! What the heck is going on here?

I've been trying to transport some Homeworld MP3s that I found on the net. The first attempt to move a couple fo files went by smoothly, but the second attempt a couple of nights ago was a dismal failure and ended up having me dump one of my floppys. I used Winzip to span the two files over three disks so that the second partition of each file ended up on the same disk. This made the later transfer of the file a little easier. When I got back home, I popped the disk in and waited for the file list to pop up. I got this message:

Disk is not formatted. Format the disk?

What the hey? I tried again, I tried on Werdna's computer, I gave up. I threw the disk out.

Last night, I tried to transfer only one file at a time, this time it had no problem reading the disk and happily chugged away until I reached 95%, when Winzip told me that it couldn't read the disk. Why that little..!

I got fed up with using HDF sneaker net (TM) to transport my one hundred and seventy megs of stuff so I was able to convince Dusty to lend me his lab's Zip drive. I borrowed a couple of disks and got basically everything I wanted from my accounts. Hopefully I didn't break anything..

On the way back from lunch, Dusty had problems with his shoelaces. Namely that they kept getting untied. After looking down at his feet the second time his shoelaces unravelled, he vowed:

"I'm gonna start tying my shoelaces into a knot."

To which weirDo replied:

"Aren't you supposed to tie your shoelaces into a knot?"

I nearly pissed myself laughing.

Yes! Cgiwrap is back up and running on Theochem. Now all I have to do is make sure that everything is running properly and to finish updating some of the new things I've changed. Gah.

Anyway, if there are any problems with the scripts, then tell me before something else breaks!

I got an urgent message from Jax after lunch telling me that she probably wouldn't be able to make it to swing dancing today. Uh huh, and what am I supposed to do? She told me to go anyway since CJF told me to go. Great, so I'd look like a fool by myself? Uh huh.

Well, after getting my annual report done, I debated for a while before deciding to stop by Fed Hall before heading off to the volleyball meeting at the CIF. On the way there I bumped into JW who apparently was also going to join the swing club. Well, that was quite interesting. Anyhoo, I got in there and was astonished by the number of people who showed up. The entire dance floor was packed with people, and they were all beginners! That still wasn't enough incentive for me to join, so after a bit of standing around (trying to find CJF) I saw the membership table and wandered on down there. Bumped into CJF who told me to sign up, I told her that I had to go, so she told me to show up next week! Oi vey.

Anyhoo, I rushed out from there and headed to the CIF for the volleyball meeting. I got there five minutes late and noticed someone in there that I recognized, so I wandered in and asked him if he had a volleyball team signed up. He told me

"No, this meeting is for soccer."

Soccer?

"Yup."

*blink*

Ahhhh!! He told me that there was a copy of the campus rec booklet outside so I took a peek and checked out the meeting room. MC4045. Doh.

So, I rushed on down to MC and wandered into the room, only ten minutes late now, and found SY there! Apparently he signed up a volleyball team for the TSA. (Of course, how he couldn't sign up a team for CTRL-A last term is anyone's guess). But hey, things after that went fairly smoothly.

After returning to the office, weirDo pointed out a message he wrote down on my whiteboard (which I didn't notice until he pointed it out - I can't see the board walking into the room). It said:

[Jax] (sp) called... she can't "make it" today.

I found that funny. Seems like she called a few minutes after I left.

Well, getting a little caught up with e-mail. Whew! Speak of getting more than I bargained for! Mind you, it's not a complaint, I really do like getting e-mail, but replying can take quite some time..

I got word that my aunt's sister passed away last Friday. May she rest in peace.

That's about it. Time to eat.
