[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

Well, I went back to the show, and tried to take a few pictures. I made a little headway since the people I chose were not as militant against photographs as my usual victims. Anyway, just as we were leaving, my camera fell out of my back and hit the (concrete) floor. Let's just say that I tried putting it back together again but..

I'm just glad I'm going back home this weekend.

I spent quite some time trying the fix the thing, but I don't have the proper tools. Unfortunately, that incident drained my will to go out for any more events (including Growly's birthday party and something going on at the SLC that JBP invited me over to). I wasn't even up to going to JCC's place for more anime. Wah. I basically went straight home.

I did call up weirDo to see if he was going to Growly's party, but he was unwilling, so without a ride, I really didn't feel like going. I guess I got more sleep that I expected last night since I got to school today BEFORE skating started!

Well, two hours of skating is a lot, but with the number of people who usually show up on Sunday's I didn't expect to get much ice to work with. I was right (in spades). The rink was packed! Holy crap.. you can tell when skating season kicks in. (Although it's silly to suggest that there is in fact a season for skating since many rinks operate year round.) Anyhoo, I was a little confused when I first reached the rink because, well, things didn't seem right. Then I realized that everyone was going clockwise! Oh yeah! Finally!

Do you know how annoyed I've been with not being able to practice anything in the clockwise direction? Anyhoo, if you saw me skate today, you'd realize why I needed the practice (despite the lack of ice).

In going skating, I opted out of the monthly aftershow brunch held at the King Street Trio. I figured that after spending all that money on food in the past couple of days, I should ease up on my money drain and have cereal. Yum. (Roast beef would've been better.)

Finally! After months of trying to decipher javascript (don't do it, it'll make asparagus grow on your head! *points* See!!) I finally got around to writing out a perl calendar cgi script. The main problem I had was determining the weekday for any given day. Javascript actually has a function that would spit it out for you, perl doesn't (at least not that I could determine). After sifting through the sea of perl calendar scripts (realizing that I'd been spelling calendar wrong), I found out that nobody else used a simple method for weekday calculation.

Okay, so I only checked three, I got fed up by then.

I wrote up one that agrees with the cal command that is on most unix machines (handy little program). After a bit of error (I'd put in trial, but it was mostly error anyway) and insight from the scripts that I did take a look at, I made up this script. What a pain.

It's still not fully tested, although I haven't had a problem with it yet. Furthermore, since Theochem is STILL not comepletely upgraded, I've got a temporary version on Sciborg which is what I linked to. Do you know what a pain it was to throw in the dates before 1753? Gah, you'd think they'd notice that they had too many leap days earlier..

Anyway, the thing should work for any dates starting from year one. So if you're bored, then play with the thing and try to break it. The links are to (mostly) non-existant journal entries, but seeing as I haven't been around for very long, that's to be expected.

I think it's about time for me to go and make some food. I realized a couple of days ago that I had enough stuff for mushroom Alfredo, so that should tide me over until I make it home for resupply. That and the free dinner which I should be getting! Although whether this bet will be honoured or not will be the question..

Oh well, immediate concerns require immediate action.
