[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

Laz sent me a link to a preview of Baldur's Gate 2 on Thresh's FiringSquad. Looks quite sweet indeed!

Note, I will be jumping into something I have no real knowledge of, so I could be just blowing smoke out of my butt. But anyway..

There's some talk about getting rid of the Canadian senate. As the senate stands today, it doesn't seem to be doing much except suck up taxpayer's money. Although I don't know that much about how the government works (actually, I don't know anything about the government but hey). I remember watching a TLC or Discover program that talked about the history of the Roman Republic, and how the senate was formed as a.. I guess a safety measure just in case the laws being passed in the house of representatives went against the morals and ideology of the society. If I'm wrong, tell me, since I'm walking into this blind.

Anyway, my point was that the Roman senate was filled with older people who upheld the traditions of the Republic, and did this without any pay. It was the distinction of being a senator and desire to maintain the fabric of the society that drove these people to work in the senate.

Our senate currently pays our senators a nice salary, and allows them to chair boards and committees (uh, conflict of interest?). The current distribution also takes into account the population distribution of the country a century ago, which is why.. I think it was Saskatchewan has only one senator while New Brunswick had three..

I say that we should make our senate more like the Roman senate where we will not pay the senators to hold their positions, and prevent them from having any other commitments to any other conflicting groups. I was thinking of only putting retired people into the senate, as they will be the least likely to whine for money, and would be the most likely to work because they want to work, and they care for the country. As our senate stands, we have a number of senators who don't do squat and just appear once or twice a year to pick up their paycheck. What a disgrace.

Comments? Hopefully from someone who knows more about this country running business stuff than I.

Oh yeah, Laz just told me:

hey, the woman who does all the female South Park voices is dead.

Hmm.

Here's a story I found at the ShackNews. Karma indeed!

I also found a site that I've been looking for for a while. HNT told me about it a couple of years ago, but I had forgotten about it. Now I want to get myself a few of those posters (or maybe the calenders). Hmm..

Guh. What a productive day. Not. I think I need more sleep. Didn't get any last night. Came in this morning just shy of noon (even on blades). I think I'm going to skip out on class tonight and go home to eat and sleep. I also have to figure out some things to bring home.

KGL's been busy with the homepage thing. The new updating being.. very similar to something else I've seen..

Alright, enough blabbing. Time to go. I want to go home.
