[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

For those of you wondering why Growly hasn't been updating his homepage much (not since the beginning of July), here's a little postscriptum he sent to us:

ps - yes, i'm supposed to update my own homepage journal -- but why should i if i can just get [QYV] to post stuff for me!? :0-)

Great. Thanks. I'll take that as a compliment.

Waitaminute.. I just proved his point didn't I? Doh!

Speaking of Growly, he also sent us a link with that message.

Just skimmed through the article and I was amazed at the number of people who have publicly showcased their lives on the net. However, the article also mentions a number of journalists being disillusioned, and leaving the genre.

[Massie] wanted the online diary to be a vehicle for a raw baring of the soul, an unreflected-upon accounting of ideas and emotion. That's proven to have been a naive hope -- the Web is clearly too public, too interactive, too instant.

I'm inclined to agree, if you want to put up sensitive information on the net, you must be prepared to accept the consequences. I can't be the only one who got burned for placing stuff in public view, ignorant of the eyes floating around on the web, blissfully assuming that I could hide myself from the world with my anonymity. Gah. I'm learning.

It's a good read, and I would recommend anyone writing online journals to read the article as well.

For the past few weeks people who have noticed my tail have been telling me:

"They missed a spot."

Then they would tell me:

"You should get your money back."

Uh huh.. I'm still keeping it okay?

Spent a fair bit of the day running around the campus finding signatures. Ran up and down to the sixth floor of MC a few times, and I even went out to the B. F. Goodrich building on the edge of campus. I probably got more exercise today than I have in the past week!

During mt walk out to the BFG, this girl passed by in front of me and she looked amazing, like a model or something. I never thought that we had anyone on campus that looked like that. She did seem to have a bit more makeup than she needed, but geez, I should have took a better (and longer) look.

Sat in on another laser lecture, and stuck around a bit longer later talking with Dusty until the wee hours of the morning..

Fixed an error with my CV, and added a new composite picture to my list. The original photographs were taken my Laz, and it took quite a while to fit the pieces together. I still have to figure a way to remove the borders.. Hmm.

Whoo! Got another entry in the Guestbook! I'm so happy!

I gotta get going, I'm getting awfully hungry and I've been here much too long. Broomball and skating tomorrow! Can't wait!
