[Monday, October 11, 1999: Homeworld and Anime.]

The trip back home was somewhat uneventful. I tried calling up people for the anime thing I was planning to hold today but getting hold of people isn't that easy on a Friday night (I was a little delayed by going to get the tapes). Still I think I was able to convince two people.. yay.

I went downtown to return the tapes and check up on Laz. He showed me Homeworld.. and I knew I had to get myself a copy. The game looks fantastic! The graphics are good, and I like how you get the complete 3D control over all of your units. Now what I have to do is to switch from my standard 2D thinking and try to use the extra dimension to my advantage (unlike Khan).

Werdna also came by to visit while I was there and I'm not sure how impressed he was with the game. When Laz was commenting about Homeworld on his .plan, I didn't think the game could be that good (or that hard). I was wrong. Anyhoo, I have to buy myself a copy at some point in time and show it off to weirDo.

Spent the better part of the afternoon downtown, so I ended up coming back home a little late. Had the anime show about two hours later than planned, but I realized at that point that I had quite a bit less anime to show than I had anticipated (Eatman was a little.. boring, so I dropped it). I was able to only show the Escaflone, Goldenboy, and Cowboy Beebop.

Lemme see, including me.. there were a total of six people who showed up. One who was late, so it wasn't that big a group. I think they enjoyed it, but I'm not so sure.. it's hard to tell sometimes. Some people stayed late to talk and stuff, but the thing sorta petered out by midnight.

LXC gave me a call while people were around wondering if I could find anyone for MJ on Sunday and if I'll be available for the buffet lunch on Monday.. I wasn't sure at the time.. but I hadn't heard of their Woburn Buffet Team before..
