[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Despite getting home later than anticipated (playing Civ and all) I was still able to make dinner - linguine carbonara. Mmm! Needless to say, I gorged myself silly last night.

I decided to wear one of my heavier T-shirts today because I thought that the weather would be somewhat cold today. I found it a little sunnier and warmer on the way to school than I had anticipated. Furthermore, our air conditioning in the lab was turned off (it was spitting out warm air). Finally, when we went out to throw the disc around (I finally got them out!) it was very warm.. I wouldn't say hot, since it wasn't, but it was still quite a sweaty experience. Next time, I'll just wear a sweater that I can take off. I was even thinking of wearing something heavier. Boy, am I glad I didn't.

weirDo picked up some scholarship stuff which he later decided not to apply for. I figured that I might as well try my hand at the OGS and NSERC scholarship again. They're due in a couple of weeks, so I have to get cracking with filling out those application forms. While I'm on the topic of scholarships, I been told to put together a CV for another scholarship possibility. Fortunately, the one I have here is mostly complete (albeit poorly formatted) so I've been working on it a bit today. I should finish by tomorrow, so if you have any suggestions, then give me a shout!

I went to the bank to (finally) drop off the club money and pay off my visa bill (all three dollars and twenty one cents). What surprised me was that just before I left, I saw one of this year's frosh leaders. When I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw another one. When I walked into the SLC, I saw a third. Finally, when I got in line, I walked up behind another one. Four! Just on going to the bank no less. I didn't talk to the first two girls since I wasn't able to grab their attention. I should have tried harder though.. kinda stupid (since the first girl greeted me first last time and I didn't notice). Well, next time.. Anyway, I just waved to the third frosh leader, and the last one I actually did have a conversation with (well, I knew him from last year's frosh week as well. I really know too many people here. I feel so awkward not greeting people that I know, so I should get out of here as soon as possible..

Riston sent me the schedule for the competitive broomball league this term. All the games seem to be on Wednesdays, which I don't have any complaints about, since all of my skating lessons are on Wednesdays, and Some of my Saturdays are a little busy. We only have five games scheduled, and we don't play the Pink Fluffy Bunny Slippers in the regular season, so this should be an interesting term..

Speaking of broomball, the co-rec league seems to only have five teams this term despite being the fall term. I already know three of the teams playing, all three are going to be very good (Riston's, the Farm team, and mine) so I feel a little sorry for the other two teams that will be playing with us (giants in the playground huh?).

We were a little bamboozled today by a false GSA pizza thing at the Grad House. I guess they got the CGSS Grad House Welcome mixed up with the GSA welcome last week and came up with something this week. In the end, after finding out this whole thing was a hoax, we went to the Mongolian Grill for dinner (since we had a class tonight). The food was okay, but after finding out that the minilink was down, we realized that we could've gone home and eaten home there. Bah.

So yeah, the minilink is down, so I've got a bit more time to spend here, so I'll see if there are any interesting news bits that might be worth putting up.

Here's a link for anyone interested in playing quantum soccer that Growly forwarded to me.

Found an interesting list on Sciborg. Found out that someone who e-mails me now and then (KGL) has her own homepage! You can check it out if you want. Hasn't been updated in a while, but it looks nice (in a cutesy girly way).

You know, for computer sites, there's a fair bit of non-computer related news on ArsTechnica and ShackNews. The first one is from ArsTechnica with their link to a possible end of life on earth via something called a superflare. Sounds like some bad sci-fi mofo who goes around.. waitaminute.. that's superfly. My bad. Anyway, I doubt this will happen, but don't quote me on it.

The other one is the chick hunt at the ShackNews. Geez.. some of these people did dig into their caches cuz I came across a copy of the page I was talking about before.. oh boy, I hope I don't bump into it again!

Oops.. it's getting kind of late. I should get going now. Need to get up early tomorrow to finish CV and catch ride home. Wah.
