Laz also has a link to a picture in his .plan. I've seen it already and.. well, I really don't know what to say.

SDS gave the Stallions a link.. which, after I put up on here, realized that it probably wasn't very appropriate. Well, actually, I'm not too sure, after taking a peek at the title page, I figured I shouldn't go inside. Those of you who are interested in checking it out, should not ask me since I just realized that I deleted his message and don't have the address on me anymore.

Oh.. seems like I lied. My page was still cached on the PC, so I figure I might as well put up the link to Troma which SDS described as

"The ultimate movie website"

Check it out if you want, I'm not really sure what's in there..

This map site is pretty cool. Very handy if you want to find something in North America, so I might use it to help with putting in locations for the Cross Canada trip thing. Still a pain in the butt to set up though.. I'll think about it..

The weather this morning was nice and cool. It was also kind of sunny, which filled me with the false sense of hope. Hope that we'd be able to throw the disc around today. False since this is Tuesday, and it's two dollar burger Tuesday at the Noodle Factory. So I guess our lunch was set.

We'll be losing a couple of people associated with science computing and a couple of us were a little worried about the stability of the networks once they leave (which is soon). An idea was thrown at me that I might be able to take over a position.. but I'll have to think about that. The reason why I went to science in the first place was to avoid staring at a computer screen for the rest of my life. I guess I came right back to computers in the end of University, which is quite ironic, seeing as how interested I was in them when I was a kid. I could work here for a couple of years before moving on.. but then I'll be living here for nearly a decade..

Speaking of new jobs, I've got another possible project for my thesis work. This is if my work with LiH doesn't progress as quickly as I hope (which seems to be the case). I've got quite a bit of reading to do though, so that I'm convinced that the math I've been told would work, will actually work. I don't want to recode my program to find out that it's all garbage.

Since Scienide is finally up and running, I got busy transferring my files here on Theochem over to get ready for the switch. This also required modifying some of the configuration files and aliases. Unfortunately, while I was fiddling around with one of those files, I got a message on my screen. Dang, messages have a tendency of popping up in the middle somewhere, blocking your view and are quite distracting. Ah well, wasn't like I was doing anything productive..

While I was moving most of my files over to Scienide, I finally got around to asking how I could change the font size of the text in my windows. Seems like it's a bit easier than I thought, and I got around to reformatting the layout of my windows. Now I've got a heck of a lot more real estate showing at the expense of squinting a bit at the screen. Makes editing my large HTML files somewhat easier, and it looks much less cluttered.

Speaking of moving, I'll have to be moving this homepage off of Theochem for a little while as well, which is filling me with a little dread as many of my links are absolute, and changing them all is a pain in the royal.. neck. There are programs out there that can change the links globally, but I rather find a permanent "relative" linking solution which doesn't use the double dot method of shifting through directories. I may not have any choice however, which is somewhat annoying, since I don't know how mobile this site will be once it gets kicked off of Theochem.

Funny too, that when I start getting regular hits from people who aren't the big four, I need to change the address. Ah well, been very happy with Scienide though. The speed improvement is amazing, and as long as the load stays within acceptable limits, I might actually be able to get quite a bit of work done by myself during the weekends..

Boy, I'm hearing Mambo Number Five the third time today. A fun song, although it's not as exciting when there's nobody else to dance around with the tune. Oh well, "Blizzard!".

Checked out the Laser course being offered this term. Holy notes Batman! I won't be taking the course for credit, just sitting in. But still, holy review Batman!

Been cleaning a bit more of the HTML on this site. Down to two directories left where I have to close all of my paragraph tags. Unfortunately, one of them includes the Journal directory. Gah. I think I'll do that last. Haven't seen too many problems with the changes that I've made so far, but I can't see every possible problem that pops up on this site.

I was thinking of responding to my e-mail tonight, but I not really in a responding mood at the moment. Nor am I particularly hungry. That's kind of odd actually, since I haven't had dinner yet. Could I be getting sick?!? Nah!

I.. what the?!? I've been going over the CTRL-A meeting minutes and I just noticed that I've been volunteered to help out with setting up the equipment.

Since when?

Ah, I think I'll just go home and sleep on it.
