[Sunday, September 26, 1999: A day in, a night out..]

Noticed that the CPP form that the government sent me had the wrong birth date on it. Gotta go out and change that before I forget!

I went to get my hair cut this morning. I was fortunate enough to remember about my tail so I told the hairdresser not to snip it off during the ordeal. Things were going well, except for the fact that I had quite a lot of hair to remove, and a large pile of the cuttings fell in my lap. I had that protective cover on me which was okay, except when she took it off, she didn't yank hard enough, and the hair ended up landing on my feet. A fair amount of hair got stuck in my shoes and on my left sock. This made walking somewhat aggravating as the bits of hair were neigh impossible to remove from my sock. It took me quite a bit of time later to remove enough of them to feel comfortable, but I had to suffer for the rest of the morning.

After the cut, I looked as if I were just fleeced. Of course, I always look bad after a haircut, so I'm probably not saying much.

I went downtown to visit Laz, who had gotten a couple of new games to play around with: System Shock 2, and Fallout 2. Both games I wanted to try out, but I was especially interested in seeing System Shock 2. I was not disappointed. From what I saw (which was just the beginning, it is a very fun and engrossing game. The fact that you had limited modules meant that you had to specialize in one of the specific fields. This was a little hard at the beginning since I had to drop a number of weapons which I could not use, and skip some of the doors and boxes which I could not open without the hacking skill. It wasn't as creepy as I expected it to be, but there were some parts that had me freaked out.. one instance was when I was in a medical area, and I could hear the chimps making sounds, the sounds came from all around me (from echoing etc.), which made it difficult to pinpoint where they were they were going to attack from. Gah.. ran out of there pretty fast.

Some good news as well. Laz was able to get the remaining trip pictures from Pops, which means that I can put the pictures from the beginning of the trip! Cool huh? Now all I have to do is to fix them up and figure out some nifty captions..

I was supposed to meet up with Squishy and return some items which I borrowed.. uh.. sometime ago. I got a little too hooked at System Shock 2 and by the time I pulled myself from the game, it was already nine. After dinner and a few bouts of Soul Caliber on the Dreamcast, it was past eleven.. Doh!

That would be.. my bad.

Before dinner, we passed by Suspect Video (where I still have a couple of credits left), and I picked up the first Cowboy Beebop tape. I wanted to show this to Laz, but he didn't have a VCR at his place, so I brought it home and showed it to my sister, who seemed to like it. (Come on, that's a great intro!) Now all I have to do is find a copy of Martian Successor Nadesico..
