[Monday, October 4, 1999: Playday and partynight..]

It was a pretty cloudy day today. I got up late. Very late. Much too late to make it to skating unfortunately. That depressed me somewhat, since I was looking forward to getting a few laps around the rink. I got out of bed eventually and after my shower, realized that I still had to finish drying my laundry. (I found out when I checked the dresser and found very little in the way of clothing. This sucked up whatever remaining time I had that I could've rushed through to make it to school on time for the last few minutes of rec skate.

Quite annoying.

Spent most of the time waiting for my clothes to dry playing Heavy Gear. I finally (finally!) got past that one hard mission which I couldn't bring any squad mates. (As I mentioned before, I couldn't bring any or the game would crash.) I finished a couple more missions before I crashed the game again, by which point I figured that I should eat something for breakfast (late lunch by then). By the time I had finished eating, I realized that I have only a couple of hours before we had to go to Growly's party tonight.

So I had a couple of choices: Stay at home for a couple of hours and clean up, or go to school and update the page, do work, and other stuff (like finish my scholarship applications). I chose the former. Cleared out some food I had in my closet. Finally moved all of those cans into the kitchen where they belonged (my closet was getting cluttered). I even fixed one of the pictures a bit (It was a little dark). I never did end up going to school.

I was debating with myself on whether I should go to Growly's thing (since I probably wouldn't know too many people) but Werdna told me that I should go

"So that you can meet people."

Oh. Great, so when did I become Mr. Extrovert?

After trying (and failing) to get in touch with Growly, I got this call from him begging me to find some more guys to go. He told me that there were twenty-one gorgeous girls there and only two guys (including him) so I should find some more guys.. like weirDo? weirDo huh? Alright, I figured that if I could get him out, I could get a ride down to his place. I called him up. No dice, he had plans already, so walking it is!

Looking out at the gloom and doom weather, I figured that it wouldn't rain and opted not to bring my cap along. But since I was going with Werdna, I decided not to blade to Growly's place.

We got there a little late, but people hadn't started eating yet. Our arrival doubled the male population in the party. I think one or two people there recognized me, although I only recognized Shelia. That was a little daunting. I had to cook my pasta and heat up my sauce, so I didn't go around socializing much. That was fine by me, I'm not exactly an outgoing person.

After consuming some food, PJ made it to the party and greeted me while I was at the stove (turned away from him at that time)

"I always want to call him Peter."

I think I know why, but nobody's called me Peter yet. I was surprised that he remembered me since I couldn't recognized him.. *blush*

The party was actually shorter than I had thought it would be, many people left earlier than expected, and we were down to nine people by the time ten rolled around. Then PJ came up with the idea to play charades. Oh good. Fortunately I didn't make that much of a fool of myself (as I did the last time I remember playing) but we lost.. by a hair. Eh.

Looking out the window, I saw that it was raining very heavily, which is bad, since I didn't bring my cap, and good, since I didn't bring my blades.. although it's still more bad than good. Speaking my surprise out loud, one of the girls told me

"It was supposed to rain tonight."

Oh really? Oops. Meteorologist I am not.

We spent the next two hours trying to download stuff off of my account (I've been gathering up way too much stuff on there and need to transfer it to my computer sometime soon). Unfortunately, Growly's computer had a heat problem (his fan got disconnected at some point in time, and then we had a problem installing the LS-120 drive, and then a problem with the ftp client, and then a problem with..

Well, you see the trend there. I never did get my stuff.. it's as if the fates are against me transferring the files. We did get to check out Laz's MSHwan interface. Very funny. I liked it. We were even able to check my page without problems. Seems like one of the returning viewers is actually made from two pairs of eyes. I shouldn't have been surprised.

While scrolling down Friday's entry, he asked me if he knew DH or QoS. Nope. Then he said something to the effect of

"Well, if it was [Squishy] maybe.."

That took a minute for me to clue in. *!* In protest, I won't comment. SJ asked me later

"Are we going to be on your webpage?"

Yes, I think you are.

So, I went home empty handed. I turned down the use of Growly's umbrella since.. well, I don't use umbrellas. I wear caps.

Don't ask.
