[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Oh yeah, yesterday while I was eating lunch (the free pizza), one of the leaders biked in (late) jumped off, and said

"Hi [QYV]!"

Uhh.. and you are?

"I was in your tutorial last year."

Uhh.. oh. Dang. I have a tendency of remembering the females. Not the males. (Except for the ones that bug me a lot.) I didn't recognize him before, but I think I remember a bit. Either way, it's still a little embarrassing to forget.

Hrumph. Make that two. Another guy came up to me and mentioned that he was in my lab. Told me that he did okay (and jokingly mentioned that the lab brought his mark down =). Saw a couple of other frosh that were in my group last year (the more prominent ones). Neither of them are in my group this year. Oh yeah, our group is blizzard, and our theme this year is natural disasters.

Personally, I liked the planets theme last year a little better (being Jupiter and all that..).

We had a bit of fun, most of the time was spent getting the frosh registered, during which we dragged them off to see the deans welcome. After that, I spent most of lunch separating the frozen hamburgers. I stole a fork which I used for most of lunch, then I stole a pair of knives which weren't as effective since they were only partially made of metal (the handle was plastic). Broke one of them too. The fork seemed to work well though, even though my hand was pretty sore after splitting all of those paddies (a couple hundred of them). After all of that work, I was only able to save myself one hamburger since they were all eaten up by everyone else =(..

After that were the science frosh olympics, which was more of a knowledge olympics than a physical one. I have no idea how we did. Things weren't going so quickly, and we had to skip out on the lab coat tie dye. We might be able to fit it in later this week.. we'll have to see. Our main concern is finding a location of the spaghetti dinner tomorrow night. I figured that I should check with HNT before letting the frosh take over the house.

I did meet someone who I recognized from last year. Pretty cute. Should talk with her more. Probably won't mention her ever again.

Now it's all done and over with for the day. We start later tomorrow (5pm) so I can actually do some work tomorrow. It was a pretty tiring day today. Tomorrow should be a little easier, but Thursday should be one hell of a blast. Funny, the date for Thursday is 9/9/99. Happens once a century.

I can't believe that I got up early today though. I even made it on time! What a concept! My allergies weren't too painful today. A minor runny nose was the only thing that was bothering me. Let's hope that I can hold out for the rest of the week!

Got two links from MJO. One was a week in review which mentions that Palm Pilots should be able to access StarOffice. Interesting. The other link is about this year's burning man. He wanted to go, but our Canadian cross country trip took precedence..

Had an interesting chat with GBC about IRC. I explained to him why people are so interested in it. Man I'm glad I stopped spodding.

Caught up on e-mail. You get quite a bit when you're not in during the day. Ah, although it was wet this morning, I'm glad the weather's cleared up enough so I don't get my blades wet. I'll be back tomorrow.
