Hrumph. Maybe I was wrong. Been told by a cow that Netscape 4.62 just came out, and while I was surfing around ArsTechnica, I find out that Winamp just released version 2.5 (freeware now!). Hopefully we'll see some innovation happening on that end, since I don't want to see Microsloth running away with gold!

Oh, I know this is late, but I might as well mention it before it fades into obscurity (the article was taken down before I could read it). I found out on ArsTechnica and ShackNews about an interesting article in the Ottawa Sun that doesn't shine a good light on all of these 3D shooters. The article is gone, but here's an excerpt:

Grossman said a game called Quake 3 was pulled from the market recently because it allowed players to scan in pictures of real people and then kill them.

Whatever.

Speaking of Netscrape, I found an article on ZDNet about a security hole in IE5, so you might want to check it out. I would like to see it for myself actually.. I went to the guy's web site and downloaded the script. You might want to check it out for yourself.

The same article also mentioned another web browser by the name of Opera that seems to be getting a bit more popular. I just downloaded the latest version (3.6) from their website and I'm testing it out (I don't like the default italicized regular font). It weighs in at a measly 1.3 megs! Good grief! Why couldn't the big two browsers be that small??

Ooh.. been playing around with Opera, testing out it's news handling and browsing ability. It still has some work needed with formatting and stuff (my GIFs at the bottom of The PIT are a little screwed) and it seems like the program is very strict with CSS and HTML implementation (no extra fancy stuff in IE and Netscrape). I don't mind actually, forces me to be a bit more careful with my coding, but the kicker is that the newsgroup reader is so fast! There was (without hyperbole) no wait, which was.. amazing.

With this fact in mind, Opera doesn't seem to like my align attribute in my style sheet (the only attribute that was not CSS2 compliant), so I set out to fix it (finally). Didn't take too long, I opted for a relative page size as opposed to my fixed 600 pixel width, and set the width to be 50% of the window box, while making sure that the page remained centered. Voila! Now my style sheet is completely CSS2 compliant! Woo woo!

Funny enough, Opera still doesn't seem to like it. *sigh*

Whatever, I'm getting out of here. Not much happening today, I'll probably go shopping. Wonder what I'll eat tonight..
