[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Got this site from KNZ. For you anime buffs out there, it was a surprising announcement, although I've seen a number of CCS episodes and it's quite enjoyable (for a magical girls show).

Got some stew on the burner so I can't really talk for long (although I probably will anyway). One thing I forgot to mention yesterday (in my hurried rush to obtain sustenance for the week - which I had to supplement today.. more on that later) about my walk home on Friday.

Remember that storm that passed by the campus I was talking about? Well, as I was walking home, I could see the storm cell in the distance.. probably a kilometer or two away, and noticed that it wasn't that large.. which would explain why the storm didn't last that long. Anyway, as I watched it recede, I saw many flashes of lightning in the cloud.. on average one a second, and this was going on for as long as it took for me to get home. These were very bright flashes too, so they were fairly close, but I was surprised at the number of lightning bolts in a storm that small. That's a heck of a lot of energy there. Gave me more respect for the environment.

After going shopping yesterday and procrastinating a bit (I didn't start making dinner until nine or so), I got a phone call from a certain reptile asking if I wanted to go out. What the heck? She never phones me.. *scratches head* Ah well, why not? So I went with the two of them (the other one is usually the one calling, so it really surprised me) out to the Revolution. Mind you, I don't drink, and I don't dance, so when she told me that they were going to a bar, I thought.. okay, maybe they could drink, and I could talk.. well, listen. Nope, we went to a club (there's a difference.. look up nightclub [club] and barroom [bar]) and they wanted to dance. Gah. I can't dance. Don't let my comments from before fool you, I really can't dance, and I only dance when there's no-one around (like at home) or if someone gives me a good reason to..

Which leads me to a quick little story about a little trip I took to a little town near Chatam. I'll cut out the details and tell you that one night we went (read: I was dragged out) to a bar, and they went dancing. I stayed at the table and nursed my water. One of the girls came up to me (right in front of me), reached out her hands, and just looked at me (square into the monocle). I will never forget the look she gave me. Only one other person I know has given me that look and I could never refuse her (well, I could never refuse her even if she didn't give me that look - she's the only person that made me willingly drink a carbonated beverage. A bottle of sprite to be exact [in New York of all places].. oi, if I had gone out with her, I would've been whipped so bad..). It also helped that she was cute as sin. Anyhoo, I took her hands, got on the floor, and.. well, that's that. My final comment? Am I ever glad that she's not single.

Anyway, it didn't really matter too much since the music they played that night at the Rev sucked rocks, and the music which I might have actually danced to was mixed all to he..ck. Dang. At least I got to play pool a bit.

Oh yeah, funny thing. I bumped into Greg and Shawn while I was sitting around. I recognized Shawn first.. although I wasn't exactly sure that it was him (hey, it was dark). I definitely recognized Greg once he turned around. I called him over and we talked for a few minutes before catching up with the girls on the floor. All in all, nothing too exciting.

One of the girls seemed a little apologetic for dragging me out since I seemed bored. Eh, it doesn't really bother me much, not like I was doing anything productive at home (except eat - I never did get to make dinner)..

Today, when I was getting ready to make beef stew, I checked on my potatoes, and.. gah, realized I should get them out of the house. Fast. They were sitting on the floor for a couple of months now (since the last time I made stew) and we've had a number of hot, humid heat waves in the interim. I guess that violated the "store in cool, dark, dry place" huh? Yuck.

That meant that I had to go shopping again. Which I did, as I needed the exercise (since I checked and found no rec skating this weekend - wah). On the way down (it was a really nice day today) I saw a really old car. I mean, it looked like the Model-T. It was obviously working since the guy was driving on the road, but my guess is that it's a replica and not an original. Still, surprised me quite a bit. Dang, I should have talked to the driver, I think it would've gotten me huge points for the Havenger Scunt (Scavenger Hunt) at this years frosh week..

That's about it.. I probably should get back to my stew. I'm also getting a tad hungry. Fettuccine carbonara doesn't cut it for breakfast these days.. oi. I can't get the look of that girl's face out of my head now. Man, that was something. I'll probably talk tomorrow about something that's been bugging me lately.. namely, that sex sells.

Time to go, let's see how my food's doing..
