[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Ever since fourth year, I've usually used my own cutlery and pots and pans whenever I eat or cook. I have just enough flatware and hollowware to survive for a couple of days before needing to wash anything. I have my own stuff because I don't like using other people's stuff. I will if I have to, but I prefer to make messes in my own backyard. One of my pet peeves is when people use my stuff, forget about it, and then leave it for me to wash, since it is my plate, or my cup. I've gotten pretty anal about people using my stuff because of that (and a bit more careful about using other people's stuff). Not like it happens that often.. (no no - especially not when I'm looking for the fork or spoon I just washed)

Oh yeah, el presidente got himself a new car. A nice red sports coupe.. can't remember the name off hand, it's a Dodge Ram something (with all the bells and whistles). Quite chic. I want one.

We've switched all of the terminals in our lab from the old thin wire to the RJ-45 blue stuff. It's supposedly faster, although I don't notice that much of a difference. Wait until we hook up the new computer..

During my search for a spectroscopic constant (I thought the one I was using in my fits were wrong since my numbers seemed so far off..), namely the dissociation energy for the ground state of MgH, I went on a journey.. of futility. I went to the library to check for some articles which talked about MgH. Found a number, even though some of the CD-ROM archives were inaccessible. Searching for the journals in the library, I found that the only article which had any bearing on what I was looking for was in a journal which we didn't have. Good. I went to check the other database (which I just happened to stumble across) and found a number of articles that I overlooked. I couldn't find the printer. Gah. So I e-mailed the results (all one of them) to my account, went back to the office, printed out the message, headed back down to the library where I promptly discovered that the library did have that we did have the journal that I was looking for, but they stopped getting more 15 years before the article I wanted got published. Doh. Somberly headed back to the office, flipped through the book where I originally got the information. Noticed a footnote which suggested another source with a different value. Went back to the library and found out that, yes, we had the journal, and yes, we have that volume, and yes, we don't have it at the library so you'll have to wait one day while we obtain it from the archives. Ah!

In the end, I just changed to the number to what I thought was right and continued working.

Made a few changes here and there. Figured that I should explain some of the names that appeared on the list I had made up a few months ago. Boy, don't they ever bring back some memories..

I've got a few messages to reply to, but I think it's time for me to go and heat up some leftovers. Mmm.. reheated stuff..
