[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

Ahh.. much better. Didn't get much sleep at all last night. After coming home, making some honeyed (Is that right?) toast, and trying my hand again at the CD-RW, there wasn't much time left to sleep. It didn't help when I got up early again today. Well, at least I'm functional, perhaps by system is used to getting little sleep. Getting a couple more hours would put my entire body chemistry out of whack and cause bad things to happen. I dunno.

My second and third attempt to make a CD-RW disk failed. Found out the next morning while reading the manual (I should read those things before I use the hardware) that programs that reside in memory should be removed before any burn takes place. Aw heck. I guess I've got some testing to do tonight.

Made it to school in one piece. GBC was still beaming about his new G3. (It's like he just gave birth or something.) And it was already 11am. Late as usual.

Got some e-mail from Stripes with a reminder about the impending return of paintball.. heheh. That got me back down to Dr. Fisher's lab to look for any vic.. volunteers. There was some interest, so I started making a list. I'll see if I can get a dozen people on my end, that should be enough to round out the troops.

Been hearing some nasty rumors about TW from the grapevine.. I can't remember them offhand, so I won't try to repeat them. Anyway, it was rather surprising to hear since she seems like a nice well-bread white urban chick. Eh, shows you what I know.

I might as well mention this now before other people start telling me about it. weirDo found out a couple of days ago from a friend of his in Australia about a site for Britney Spears which made me laugh. Amazingly, this site was made by someone in math at UW! Quite amusing, I didn't know that she was that young. Don't put too much faith in the counter tho, it increments every time the page is loaded, not every unique access.

There are a couple of interesting stories about Microsloth down at ZDNet.. I can't be bothered to recite the specifics, so you should go down there yourself!

It seems like Laz has recently updated his homepage, and so has Growly! That was quite an interesting change. He went from completely graphic to near complete text. I generally prefer text, much easier to download. (he's even started up a journal of sorts). Kewl huh? Now I can keep up to date with these people without having to e-mail them all the time! (Not like I was e-mailing all the time) He does a lot of web design (Like for the FEDS - *gack*) so it will be quite interesting to see how his page develops.

Had a little discussion with GBC and weirDo about the emergence of XML and how it will affect the net. Personally, I don't think it will do much (if at all), especially when there are so many web designers out there who are so set into HTML. Well, gives me another reason not to learn too much HTML, and be glad that I'm keeping my pages simple (and hopefully easy to read). Hopefully XML will be implemented soon, since it will offer much greater functionality and better display methods of such simple things as mathematical equations which HTML chokes on. (I could put my thesis on the web!) Well, we'll just have to see won't we?

Heh, been working on the LiH and Rb2 throughout the day. Things are going slowly.. there have been a couple of ups and downs (mostly downs), but I'm still pretty hopeful some good work will come out of this.

Should be enough for now, some hardware things going on, but you can go and check them out yourselves with my links. Apart from that, I want to eat, I want to sleep, and I want to get my CR-RW working!
