[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Whew! The presentations are over, and I just came back from dinner. The presentation went very quickly, which was a good thing. I hope people actually understood what the heck I was talking about (I talked about Born-Oppenheimer Breakdown). Well.. there's a bit to talk about, so I'll start with the scholarship.

It seems like I have to turn down the OGS. One of the stipulations was that I couldn't hold any other awards worth more than $5000 during the same year I held an OGS. What a pain in the butt. I guess I won't be taking people out to lunch.. Funny enough, after a bit of calculating, if the NSERC scholarship does replace my RA, then I would've gotten MORE money with the OGS! Wah. Seems like a whole bunch of people also got awarded the OGS. Unfortunately, most of them were awarded NSERC scholarships and had to decline.

Growly has put up an interesting review of The Matrix on his site. Actually, I've only read the first two paragraphs (and the last one) since I don't want to spoil the movie - I haven't seen it yet! So you can check it out yourself.

Speaking of The Matrix, Laz has admitted to watching the movie FOUR times!! This is once per day since the movie came out (well, he admitted it yesterday so at that point it was once a day). Crazy boy, the Matrix is for rabbits! Oi.. speaking of Laz, he's updated his .plan file, so you might want to take a peek before you go.

BT (my cousin) had an interesting revelation when he was driving me back to Waterloo yesterday. It went on for a while, but basically he told me that I should get to know my parents (and the he should get to know his) before we move away. He's going back to Boston after he's finished his MBA down at Western and he realized that he didn't really socialize with his parents that much. Funny enough, neither do I. It's always the come home, say how things are going for an hour, and then go out and do something on your own.

"This is the time to DO stuff with your parents, and get to know them. Once you go away, it will only get that much harder."

He's right ya know. But it's so hard.. it's like an invisible barrier that stops us from relating with our parents.. I dunno.. I dunno..

Too much.. too little.. too late.. too soon.. What the heck, I think I'm just gonna go home now.
