[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

While I was playing Baldur's Gate last night, I had the darnedest time in the Knoll stronghold. Apparently, there was some woman being held captive at the stronghold and I looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't. for the life of me, find her. I cleared it out three times, and even cleared out the surrounding maps but to no avail. Then it hit me. I had two guys in my party that wanted to find her. One wanted to kill her, and the other wanted to save her. I guess the game didn't consider this as a viable possibility for a party and didn't have any outcomes should we find her. Thus, I dropped one of the guys (who was gonna turn on us anyway) and went back in. Lo and behold, there she was. What a pain in the butt. At least we got a lot of gold out of it.

Whoa, seems like the folks at AGN claim to hove been able to overclock a C400 to 600MHz!! Good lord!

Laz seems to have updated his page last night (well, this morning actually). You may also want to check out his .plan file. A couple of notes to point out, he mentions five different Kung Fu styles, although he lists tiger twice! Also, for those of you who haven't listened to him rant before, BFH doesn't mean brown fuzzy herrings, it means Brothers From Hell.

Speaking of updates, Growly has also updated his page recently (like yesterday), and if you wanted an alternative view of Laz, Growly has it.

Yesterday was the day that we got our registration forms for next term, with course applications, payment, etc. Most of us play the tuition through the stipend that the school gives us. That value is about 1350 a month. Not very much, and is enough to pay for tuition, rent, food, and give just enough for a bit of other "stuff" one might want. This stipend is split up into two components. A research assistantship (RA), and a teaching assistantship (TA). The RA comes from your supervisor and accounts for about 60% of the stipend, while the rest comes from the TA which you only get if you actually go and TA a number of courses over the year. Crazy NSERC rules state that I can't receive extra NSERC funding with the NSERC scholarship. Since my supervisor is funded by NSERC, that means my RA for the next two terms is zero. Zilch. Nada. The scholarship basically replaced it. Other people (not to mention any names) have the scholarship money on top of their normal stipend. Whoa, holy money Batman! Well, I shouldn't be complaining that much. At least I'm getting something.

Went skating today, saw the same bunch of people that usually go skating on Saturday, which includes a number of Chem Grad students. I fell a number of times, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of one foot turns. I still have to practice my inside left three-turn, but I'm feeling much more comfortable. Now I have to work on my jumps and spins.. boy do they ever need work..

Renee should be working today, but I haven't had food yet, I think I'm just gonna pop over to Mel's for breakfast and then check up on her before going home. I'm feeling more tired than I'd admit, and it may have something to do with playing a certain computer game..
