[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Ugh. Danged bird. Chirped for an hour around dawn, kept me up until it probably got eaten. Still, I got up early again. Something to do with the sun I guess, but it's kinda weird. Daylight savings time moves the clocks ahead an hour, which means that I actually get up an hour earlier than I think, and I'm already getting up earlier than normal! How bizarre.

Yesterday as I was walking to school, there was a lot of commotion around the Sunoco I pass every day, seemed like they wanted to do some construction or something. When I was walking back home that night, the whole repair building was gone! Poof, just like that. Even the propane tank was gone, and there wasn't a trace of any debris. Those guys really work fast.

TG came by looking for GBC again. She had just stayed up all night to finish her term paper and wanted to talk to GBC before she went home to shower and eat. I have a question. Why? Not like she wasn't presentable, but come on.. Well, I could make more comments.. but only if she comes up again.

Beep! While Dusty and weirDo were in my office chatting it up, I got a mail message from Cosmo which was a pretty lame joke:

What do you call an Amish guy with his hand up a horses ass?

A Mechanic.

What the.. then he pops in and says something to the effect of:

Ah, my theory is correct! People will check their e-mail in the middle of a conversation!

Hmm.. Well, I can only blame it on xbiff.. it's just like call waiting. You can't ignore it..

Went to weirDo's CHEM 794 talk. It's basically a proposal for his Master's thesis and it went over pretty well. We (like a whole bunch of us) were supposed to go to the Mongolian grill for lunch after his talk, but people kept dropping out until it was just the two of us. Bah. I figured I should pay for lunch seeing as.. well.. he just finished his 794! Nuff said.

I went down to talk to Dr. Fisher about getting a new hard drive and a CD-RW. Seems like he got a new firmware update for his Acer CD-RW (the one that didn't work). We'll have to see if it fixes the drive or not. What I didn't mention was that the drive stopped working when he used the last firmware update on it. Mind you, they took the update off the homepage the day after Dr. Fisher downloaded it from the net. Always a sure sign that something wasn't right. Too bad he had already used it. Funny thing about firmware, it's much like a BIOS flash upgrade, but you couldn't uninstall it. How unfortunate. Well, I'll find out by tomorrow if it worked.

I also asked Dr. Fisher if he knew Paul.. uh.. whatever his last name was. Paul mentioned on Tuesday night that he had helped proofread the CHEM 129 lab manual. (Oh so long ago). I didn't exactly believe him so I checked with Dr. Fisher. Seemed like he did remember a Paul (after some thought) but he mentioned that he gave a copy of the manual to Paul to proofread but he never returned it. Course that was a long time ago and he might have remembered incorrectly, but I just found that kinda funny.

Got from ArsTechnica an interesting site on hacking. You can check it out. Oh yeah, Team Fortress Classic for Half-Life is also out.

Enough for now. I've got a lot of work to do for tomorrow, and I'm fading fast. Night!
