Long day.. long long day, and little work done. Actually, there was no work done, but considerable entropy generated. First of all, I figured that it was time to pare down the size of my page, seeing as people have a tendency to wander if the line lengths for pages are too long. I tried this way, and that way, and in the end (after about two hours) I just changed one line in my CSS file. Thus I have come up with two conclusions:
Two hours!! Gosh darned it.. I actually did the easy fix the first time, but I thought I could do better.. (oh, where have I heard that before?) Remind me whenever I get a brilliant idea, to repeat the quote
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Sigh.
Well, on to bigger and brighter things. First of all, read an article on GBC's door about the information age, and how it's affecting all of us. Quite a depressing read, after checking off all the symptoms of information overload. Then I heard the aftermath of that Denver High School shooting. Fifteen dead including the two gunmen and a faculty member. Funny enough, this has halted a bill that was going to allow people to have concealed firearms..
You know, that stuff wasn't very bright at all. Gee.
weirDo reminded me of the Baldur's Gate Chronicles site. Has a lot of nifty doodads about the game that will come in handy later (like the fact that the only allowed dual Ranger is with a Cleric).
I was lucky today actually. The TTC strike is over, and this means that I can get a ride from TP to Mississauga and take the bus the rest of the way home. I was getting a little worried there, since I would have to find some other way (GO) to cross TO. Anyway, I still have to check out the prices and schedules for the Markham bus so I'm not exactly in the clear yet!
I did a bit of surfing and found Lucky's site which, apparently, is still up! I was a little surprised. A little more surprised that she didn't put her e-mail address anywhere on the darned page!! Ah well, I tried the address that I had before and it bounced. Funny that, I didn't think she'd have graduated by now.. unless she had a Christmas graduation..
Also went to Nick's 795 talk. It was all organic chem so, went right over my head. It went well I guess, even though he started getting bombarded with questions by the committee (this wasn't a defense darned it!) so I left early. I'll have to see how he did later.
Now that the pages are a little narrower (if you're using CSS you'll notice). This entry looks a lot longer than it should be. I was gonna say more, but I'll leave that for the slow days.. it seems like I forget to mention many things whenever I'm depressed, and one of them came from last week, when I was eating breakfast. I was having Kellogg's rice krispies for breakfast (I don't have any more shreddies) in my normal bowl.. it's holds about two liters or so.. and ChuckL came into the kitchen, took one look at my meal and said:
"Holy [QYV], it's the breakfast of champions!"
All I could do was look at him funny and continue eating.
Ack, getting tired, need to proctor tomorrow.. must eat and sleep..
