[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

Got to work a bit later than early today. The weather this morning was pretty crummy. In fact it was hailing by the time I got out of the door, although the hail was really small (specks in fact). On the way to the school, I passed by this cat on the side of the street that was wrapped up in a towel. I found that kind of odd, until I took a closer look and saw that the cat's eyes were open, blank, and empty. I felt kind of sad for the creature, being thrown out like this, but all I could do was keep walking..

When I checked my mail today, I was completely and utterly amazed to see that I got mail from LXC. I only know of one LXC and that was Mr. LXC himself! My god, for the past few years I've been wondering where this boy has been (and so has most of the people that I've asked about him) just to have him find me! How bizarre, how bizarre. Anyway, it seems like he found me through this page of mine which apparently has been keeping him updated. Mind you, he was also known as "the Sponge" in high school. I don't have to explain that no do I? Ah yes, I remember playing cards with this boy, in just about every game, (like 8-5-3) he would pick up his cards one at a time and say:

Ace! *picks card* Ace! *picks card* Ace!

Whenever it worked, he would show it off to us. (Course he would still beat us..) Anyway, seems like I got the message from York University, which may indicate that he's doing some schooling there (He was in Pharmacy at UT last time I checked). Well, I guess I'll have to ask him to fill me on the details, and if he still plays 8-5-3..

The CGSS BBQ was canceled today. Mostly because of the crappy weather. I sent out a message to everyone (The chem grads, staff, and faculty) but found out that ADK had just sent one too. Gee.. I even got a few responses complaining about the cancellation. Heh, I responded to Scott's tho. Funny enough, by the time noon rolled around, the rain had stopped and it started to warm up. Gosh darned it.

GBC is still bubbling over the voice recognition software that he installed yesterday. It's quite kewl, and it recognized multiple people without any training. I must say that I was impressed. Of course the mic he had was the original one that came with the G3, but it still worked fairly well. I try to pick on him now, shouting out

"Computer, shut down computer."

every chance I get (GBC thinks I'm just jealous).

This is interesting, found out from an article on ZDNet that Microsloth might be sending out Windows 2000 Beta 3 out to the general public through PC vendors as preinstalled software on their computers. I find that kind or worrisome, considering the current track record of their betas.

Also on ZDNet found an article on a new "gaming" mouse from Logitech. Didn't realize that the mice were only polled several times a second. Would be interesting to have one of these babies in a FPS tourney..

Speaking of which, the FPS master, known as Laz should be coming over this weekend with my copies of Half-Life and Baldur's Gate. I've got to show him Jo Jo's Bizarre adventure too. I'll try to get something at weirDo's place, since he's got Team Fortress Classic up and running there.. heheheheh.

Getting late, and I should check up on Renee. Couldn't last week cuz of Good Friday, so I better go before she thinks I forgot about her.. I'll be back tomorrow.
