[12:00 PM EST - No subject.]

Another not so great day has started.. crappy weather. It's not the clouds, it's the humidity.. yoiks, and I still haven't acclimatized to the heat yet.

I forgot to mention about the time I went back home Wednesday night. Our driveway is the type of double wide driveway that starts off thin and gets wider as you approach the house, so although you can park two cars near the house, only one can go out at a time. The driveway can't be widened because there's a huge tree stump right next to the driveway, which sorta sticks out like a sore thumb. Well, I'm not sure if HNT ever planned to get rid of that thing, but it's on the side of the driveway that borders our neighbor's house. Anyway, that night when I came back, there was a lot of noise coming from the direction of our house. On closer inspection, I saw this old man, and a not so old man, hacking away at the stump. They had a chainsaw too and they were really going all out taking apart that stump. (It's a large stump, about 3 feet in diameter) They even had a car in our driveway so that they would have enough light. Anyway, by the time I got there, I saw that they had already chipped off parts of the stump, but the thing was still firmly planted in the ground. They had scraped away a lot of the dirt around the trunk to reveal even more of the stump (this must've been a huge tree).

I offered to help, but they kindly declined, so I went inside and turned on the outdoor lights (which didn't help too much). Apparently ChuckL and Hazel were home (sleeping no less), although the lights were all off. I was kinda surprised that they could sleep through all of this commotion.. I mean, a chainsaw isn't exactly a normal noise in the suburbs, and it was really loud. I went out later to make sure that they didn't need any help (I was boiling water and could spare some time). But they seemed alright, so I left them. Hazel told me later that the old man started picking away at the stump in the morning.. with his son helping out later. Good lord, they've been going at it all day and all they've done was chip the thing? There's no way they're gonna finish. It was also getting late and the other neighbors were probably getting annoyed by the sound. They stopped about an hour after I got home, so things went back to normal. When I checked out the damage yesterday, I really didn't notice a difference. What a waste.

Well, I'm gonna be going home for the long weekend. My ride will be arriving around noon - 1 PM.. so I don't have too much time here to clean up. He nearly couldn't make it today (had a project to do or something) so it would've been Saturday when I would've made it back. When I heard about that, I started asking around to see if other people were going back and when. Unfortunately, I wanted to bring back my old computer and some crap and didn't want to be left in the middle of the city.. So.. no dice. Anyway, this is one of the few times that luck smiled on me for getting a ride home.

Hmm.. I could've sworn there was more to say. Oh well, sucks to be me. I'll be back in a couple of days. See ya later.
