[6:18 PM EDT - Getting no frills.]

When I went to No Frills this morning for iced tea, I remembered something when I picked up sugar on Thursday.

Since I was only purchasing a bag of sugar, I went to the 1-8 items line, but as I approached, this lady with a full shopping cart waltzed into line. There were clearly more than eight items in her cart, and I was going to say something, but she looked at me and said,

"Oh, you've only got one item. Why don't you go first?"

Duh.. okay. I guess I couldn't really say anything after that huh?

[6:19 PM EDT - Cancel my appointments.]

I just finished taking a shower. Whew! That was good. There was supposed to be a BBQ with the patrollers tonight, but that got canceled, so I'm free to go downtown to sit in the hot tub with the So Cut team. *looks at pile of laundry*

On the other hand, maybe not.

I'll be spenting my time tonight going through all of these new acquisitions and doing some cleanup (and some e-mail).

[7:07 PM EDT - Predator Prey.]

When we were biking to the zoo after the power outage, we came across a school just north of the zoo. Nobody seemed to recognize it except for me. I remember coming by this school sometime in grade six (I think) and we had a game of Predator Prey.

girl found their website and passed along the link. Anyone want to play?

[9:01 PM EDT - Again when you feel helpless.]

Man, don't you hate it when something happens and you realize that there's nothing you can do?

[9:07 PM EDT - Low riding.]

Ugh, these low riding jeans are showing off my underwear! *looks down* Fortunately, I leave my shirts untucked so I can retain an iota of modesty. Who wears these things? *tugs at waistband*

Oh yeah, I finally started to go through the computers I wanted to keep. When I cracked open the P200 MMX and peered inside, I saw.. *gasp* SDRAM! Uh oh. This machine is much more modern than my other PCs, and I can't throw in the memory I have into it. This means that I'll have to do a bit of rearranging. The other P200 MMX is already maxed out, which means that I can still put together two P133s with 32MB RAM, and throw the extra chips into the P166 which should be able to hold 60MB of RAM! That's overkill, and a few of my chips are going to waste, but what to do? (Now this is assuming that the six slot SIMM board will actually run in the configuration I'm envisioning..)

Before then, I've got a few parts to test. There's a couple of motherboards to look at and a CPU to test.

[9:43 PM EDT - News from other sources.]

Ugh.. I find things out all the time. Sometimes it happens all at once. I found out that I should give someone a call tomorrow if I was in town (chances are that I won't), and some relationship stuff.

Hmm.. that doesn't seem like a lot, but they were all pretty shocking to me when I got the news, and it was all fairly quick in succession. I'm still figuring out how to respond to each one, but I think I've got a handle on a couple of them. Things should be okay in the end. They always are. (Although I wasn't actually a protagonist/antagonist in any of these issues.)

Yeah, I'll make that call.

[9:49 PM EDT - Clean teeth, developed photos, used computers, new cars and iced tea.]

I got up early this morning so that I could get my teeth cleaned. I got to the office on time, but they seemed to be running a little behind. I did end up going in and out fairly quickly. Ahh, the benefits of having flossed for the previous six months does pay off! (Although I'll have to floss the front a bit better and my slightly impacted molar.) Hmm, I'm still thinking of fixing my jaw. If I'm going to spend thousands of dollars fixing my spine, what's a few hundred to fix my mouth?

I was expecting HKL to drop off some computer components, and since he told me that he wouldn't be able to make it for ten, I decided to take some time and do some chores before I made it home. First, I picked up the photos I sent for development on Monday, then I went to a Toyota dealership to take a look at those Celicas (they had a few older models there, but the markdown wasn't that big), and then I picked up some iced tea for the BBQ tonight. While I was taking a look at the cars, I got a call from my mom telling me that HKL had already dropped by to leave the computers. What the.. curses! *shakes fist* I sped up my schedule so that I wasn't too late for ultimate.

[11:01 PM EDT - A Squishy surprise!]

I got to the field a little later than I had planned. By the time I had a bagel (for breakfast), put on my shoes, slapped on some sunscreen, and got some practice throws in, the game was already over. (I had missed out on the first game already.) Crap. Oh well, I doubt my presence would've made a difference in the game (we lost by six odd points). Actually, we had a lot of people show up. I thought we'd be short players, but our whole roster actually appeared (from the people who could've come including injured players) and all of our rin.. substitues showed up as well so we had more than enough (men at least).

Since our next game was on the same field, we spent our bye watching the next game at the field. I got a few more throws in before taking a seat in the shade to watch the last part of the (closely contested) game.

While I was waiting there, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar figure bounding down the slope (I was at the bottom of the trench) towards me. Upon recognition, all I could do was babble out,

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!"

before I was confronted by a Squishy hello! Believe me, only Squishy could give me a greeting like that (and it puts a smile on my face every time =)! It's nearly as good as when she's covering me. Nobody covers me like Squishy..

So yeah, I wasn't expecting to see Squishy at all this weekend (or for quite some time actually) so this was a really nice surprise. I should get more surprises like this more often!

Speaking of surprises, I made a pretty bad slip during the game. JH was looking for a ride downtown, and then KB quips up that he was going downtown, but was looking for a ride. So I told him (like a jedi),

"That's not the kind of ride she was looking for."

A moment later, I got smacked on the back of the head. What the.. what was that for?!? Then PRQ enlightened me by reminding me what I said.

<- eyes widen.

Whoa, speak of double meaning!

Anyway, our last game of the day was a good game, it was closely contested until the end, and our last point was a walking everybody on the field point.

It's too bad that I didn't bring a camera. There were so many good photo ops today.

Afterward, some of us went out for lunch/dinner before part of our team went downtown for a hot tub party. I had a BBQ to go to (later canceled) which is why I went home. At least I got to take a (much needed) shower and took some time to clean up my computer mess. (Still incomplete, but hey.)

[11:24 PM EDT - News Bytes: Silly theft.]

I found a couple of links on ArsTechnica. One is a recipe for Silly Putty, and the other is on identity theft.
