[9:46 AM EDT - Earlier and earlier.]

I've found that there are some benefits like getting a (marginally) closer parking spot. The traffic isn't that much worse either. THe route I'm taking is busy all the time (and I mean all the time) so arriving early and arriving late won't alter the amount of traffic I need to go through.

Tonight is my "night off" although I don't see it as being relaxing. I still need to do some car hunting and computer fixing, and I doubt either will be very short events either. *sigh* Anyone want to come car shopping with me?

[11:48 AM EDT - Comparing specs.]

I was checking the Celica specs from 2000, 2001, and 2002 and didn't notice too much of a difference between the models.

[12:11 PM EDT - Limited time offer.]

I got a couple of links just now. PL send a link to the standings for the tournament last weekend. We're number one! (For a little while at least.)

Laz sent me a link to the Ontario Used Car website.

[7:35 PM EDT - Setec Astronomy.]

I was just looking up some news and came across two interesting articles on ArsTechnica. The first has to do with the first commercial use of Quantum Encryption. There's also an article on the hidden costs of outsourcing.

[8:18 PM EDT - XP four projection.]

Since I had some time tonight, I decided to do a bit more testing before I got down to the nitty gritty of setting up my new acquisitions. The plan (for me) is to set up the 4GB HD that came with the Aptiva with XP. I'd transfer it over to the peripheral computer and put the 10GB HD on my machine (since I'm running low on space). I have enough smaller drives to keep the Aptiva happy if I instal Debian. (So long as I have enough power cables for them..)

Before I started to install XP, I decided to try out HT's SIMMs again. Funny enough, they worked. They were each 4MB in size, so they're pretty much useless to me right now. I don't know what I was smoking when I was testing them a couple months back but I must've screwed up some sort of configuration somewhere..

Oh yeah, I was reading up on the new PowerMacs on display and kept thinking of those crazy 17" laptops. Eventually, users would want larger screen sizes, but that would defeat the purpose of having a laptop would it not? Then I had an idea: Why not use a projection set instead? If you have a mini projector on a laptop, you can drop the entire display mechanism completely. Unfortuntaely, there's one huge drawback: Power. I wonder if anyone's tried it yet?

[9:56 PM EDT - Change of IP.]

Argh! I was right. I lost my connection to my server this afternoon and wondered if it was due to a power failure, a server crash, or a IP change. I came home and forgot about the broken connection since the server was up and running.

Only now did I remember to check what my IP is. I guess someone got around to changing it. Ah well, not much else I can do about it right now huh?

[9:57 PM EDT - No time to spend.]

I thought I had a night to work on my PCs, but I got pulled away to put together a shelf so my testing will have to wait until Friday.
