[6:25 PM EDT - Jumping coincidence.]

I went out with HT to take a look at buying a new car. He had aready started negotiating with the salesman for his RSX, and we decided to throw my offer in to increase our leverage. When we got there, I got a rundown of the features of the car, and I got to test drive the car (it's pretty nice actually - I don't feel like I'm driving fast), before sitting down for negotiations.

I'll have to say this here: I'm a bad negotiator. I'm glad I was sitting with HT. I let him do most of the talking. I can be talked into buying my own watch and thinking that it's a Rolex. Since it was my first time at the dealership, the sales guy wanted to show me around the building. As we were walking by the cubicles, I saw a couple talking with another sales representative and the woman looked awfully familiar.

I started at her for a minute and then tried to get her attention by waving my hand in her forward field of vision. No dice. As with the QoS incident, I needed to know if this was who I thought it was, so I shouted out her name. She looked at me. It was her. Then I asked a really stupid question:

"What are you doing here?"

Oops, mouth working faster than brain.

So.. yeah. We got a little bit caught up. Actually, I was at a loss for words because I didn't know what to say, and I was in shock. Well, one of the first things I found out was the reason why she didn't respond to my calls or my e-mail: New phone, new e-mail. I guess the wall of silence is now officially over.

So yeah, that basically set the tone for the rest of the day. I was so much zoned after that completely coincidental moment (she was only in town for that day) I was in no condition to do any sort of bargaining. We took breaks and went out to lunch (I met HT's parents) and I let them do most of the talking.

So I ended up buying a car. We got a good deal, but.. I just bought a car! A new car!

[7:38 PM EDT - Getting all organized.]

Okay, I need to get organized here. I've got some things I need to put together before I can go ahead with this car thing. First thing: money. I need to get enough money together. How long does it take to get a certified cheque? I need to go to the bank on Monday. I need to call up my insurance on Monday. On top of all of this, I need to get a hair cut tomorrow.

It seems like I'm forgetting a lot of things I need to do, like getting those computers set up, or cleaning up the scripts on this site, or scanning in those photos, or writing up those chess games.

I guess always having something to do is a good thing right?

[9:02 PM EDT - Family room transformation.]

Whoa, in the past few weeks, our recreational room has transformed from a kid play zone into a neo-spartan Ikea inspired family room. The sofa was replaced, as was the TV, the hi-fi stereo system was replaced by a surround sound home theatre system. The plants were removed and a gas fireplace was installed. The toys were removed and the shelves were put in it's place. The lantern was taken down and a stand was erected. Holy crap! I should've taken pictures of the transformation, but I had no idea how much was planned..
