[10:06 AM EDT - Funny smell.]

Hmm, there was a funny smell in the car when I got in in the morning. When I dropped PLP home, he said he could smell something that was probably the clutch. I couldn't smell anything on the driver's side though.

I'm wondering if I did end up burning something or if it's just because it's a new car..

Oh yeah, the tires smell too.

[10:28 AM EDT - Dream Sequence: Branding Invitations.]

There was one part of this morning's dream that really shocked me, which is the reason I remember anything at all from this sequence. I do remember it being a long dream, but I only remember two parts. The first involved me at some sort of party at a house with a nice backyard. There were kids everywhere, and quite a number of people as well. I don't remember how this came about, but there was something that I was being forced to do for some favor or item that I wanted. But to gain this boon, one of the kids wanted to brand me with a white hot rivet on my right shoulder (from the front). I kind of waffled for a while and watched as the white hot metal slowly cooled down to a bright red, and then dull red colour. I couldn't delay much longer, so eventually I just declined and got the heck out of there.

Later in the dream, I found myself at yet another party with mostly people from my age group. We were playing some sort of puzzle game, and I was starting to get a hang of it when this guy comes into the room and hands me some sort of telegraph message. (Well, it's not a telegraph, but it's that type of message handoff.) Anyway, I read the message and said the anouncement outloud. Everyone applauded at the news, but I just sat there stunned, like a big rock had just been dropped on my head. The rest of the dream was quite surreal since I didn't really pay much attention to anything but the message..

[11:37 AM EDT - What a great deal!]

Holy crap, I just got word of a 24 port (10/100Mb) switch for twenty-two bucks! Whoot!

[9:32 PM EDT - Too good to be true..]

Well, those deals we were given were too good to be true. The prices were after rebate. The question is whether we'd be getting the rebates or not. I don't think we put in the order in the end because I don't think anyone could pony up the cash.

Anyway, I still got a free 1.6GB drive out of the deal. I popped it in Nineveh and it seems to be running fine. Now all I need to do is to set it up with Debian and I'm all good to go!

[10:06 PM EDT - Slow, slow internet.]

What's up with my internet connection? Is some yahoo running a dozen file sharing networks in my neighborhood? Yikes.

Well, with the internet (basically) down, I'm a little wary about installing Debian since I was planning on doing a network install. No network, no install. That's okay though, it's not like I had a lot of time tonight to do anything. Mind you, I don't have any time in the next few days either.

Actually, this weekend looks fairly free. That's a first. Perfect time to show off my car, unfortunately the people I wanted to impress aren't in town..

Anyway, since I've got a bit of time, the plan for this weekend is to set up Debian on the other P200 MMX, get the web server running on it, take down my server, and reformat it, using the 240MB drive as a swap drive (thus freeing up some space on my 1.2GB drive for useful stuff like files).

I really don't know how I'm going to set it up. I want to set up some sort of SSL thing. Maybe I put this site on SSL, and put up another site on non-SSL for any plebs who want me to host their page? (If they don't mind the agonizingly slow connection speed.)

[10:33 PM EDT - Camera.]

I also got this internet camera from HKL which I have yet to install. Looks easy enough to use. *looks at camera* Let's see if I can get it to work (once the internet comes back up that is).
