So I got to DeeL's place early since I needed to create my character for the adventure. A few of us were jumping into the middle of this ongoing adventure so he had to slot us in somehow. He filled us in on who we were, what we want, and where we were. Then we were off to the races.
We did indeed have a number of role playing neophytes in the group, but at least their leader knew what he was doing so the party didn't go and get themselves killed. My group of addins weren't much better. DeeL's an old hat at this, but the other two guys in our group would've gotten us killed many times over had MasterStorm not kept saying,
"I'll pretend that I didn't hear you say that."

It got us into quite a number of interesting situations at least, most of them quite humorous since our DM was quite generous with the rules. Oh yeah, the "Barren Forest" comment was great. Oh dear, we were all rolling around on the floor for part of the afternoon.
Anyway, it was fun. The next session should be in a month or two.
I had to leave early for hockey so I couldn't stay for the lead in to the second act unfortunately. I say unfortunately because I was doing most of the talking at that time. (Come on guys, I can't be the only person asking questions now can I?)
Hockey was okay. I was really tired since I got up early, and when I got on the ice, I just wanted to go to bed. So I didn't play all to well. We didn't win either so maybe next time I'll see if I can get a bit more sleep..
