[2:03 AM EDT - Yet another long night.]

Man, I'm back late yet again. I really should stop doing that. How the heck am I going to catch up on sleep?

[2:11 PM EDT - The women are hot but the men are not.]

Apparently that's what girl says about the people down in Japan. Maybe I should take a trip for myself huh? (Considering what Jules is saying about how they'd jump on any foreigners and all.)

Anyhoo, I'll be spending most of the day working on my computers. I probably should take a look at the car, but I think the fix will be beyond my capabilities.

I need to respond to some e-mail as well. Boy, more than I had expected. Hopefully I'll have time to go through it all..

[4:20 PM EDT - Go racing?]

After having fun with go karting, Laz was invited to try out the Bridgestone Racing Academy. Ironically enough, we send patrollers out there to do first aid. One of the perks is a free lesson (for those who put in enough time). I never participated because the working hours are actually during working hours. (It's really just a summer job.) Hmm, maybe if I take a sabbatical, this would be something to try out?

[9:03 PM EDT - Installing Debian (again).]

I was able to install Debian on Nineveh and it seems stable and fairly happy. It was actually quite painless, and after a bit of fooling around, easy to install. Heck, I have my website up and running on it. The only things that don't work are the user statistics, but really, who ever checks those out?

Because Debian is based on "free" modules, some things are not available, notably Pine. I was raised on Pine. I have used Pine as my e-mail agent for ten years, and it'll be difficult for me to wean myself off. But.. I.. must.. *grits teeth*

Apart from that, everything else is pretty good. Actually, I'll have to rethink my network setup. If I do plan on splitting the mail and web servers..

Cripes, this is getting more and more complicated! How do sysadmins stay sane?!?

[10:44 PM EDT - Changing PuTTY ports.]

After reading up on a security page, I decided to move a couple of ports around on the server. I'll need to do this anyway when I start splitting up the work, so this is good practice, so long as I don't break anything (like access to the actual server).
