[7:57 AM CST - Homebound Halloween.]

Well, I should be heading back to Canada later today. I need to pick up some pecans and some other stuff before I head out.

I should get ready.

[9:04 AM CST - Austin info.]

I got this from girl, but I wanted to take it easy last night so stayed in town.

[9:17 AM CST - A bit more shopping.]

Ah, I went and picked up some more stuff. I really should pay more attention to people because picturing things in my head is not one of my strong points unless it has anything to do with code or math.

I ended up watching part of "The Breakfast Club" last night. Man, that's a classic. There was also a show about the entertainment in 1981. Wow, there were some classics there, like the Smurfs! It was a smurphing good time!

[11:03 AM CST - Tour and return.]

Well, I had a tour of the mill. It was quite interesting actually. Really hot, but very interesting. I couldn't take any pictures unfortunately, but it's not like I'll forget watching the furnace and stuff. Anyhoo, I got a plane to catch!

[9:58 PM EST - Dark neighborhood.]

Yay! I'm back in town, and in one piece! Just in time for the ski swap! *hangs head*

Well, Hopefully I won't be killing myself this weekend, but I should start looking at picking up a used snowboard to play around with this year. Now that I got a good taste of snowboarding, I definitely think I'll be getting into it this year!

Man, that means spending more money.. erk.

Anyhoo, the trip back was fairly uneventful. The plane I took was about half the size of the 737 I took on the way down, so finding stuff for my carryons was a little difficult considering that I was carrying this huge box around with me.

It was great getting back into my car. My baby! *pats hood*

The neighborhood, on the other hand, was really dark. I was on the assumption that houses with lights would be offering candy. If so, the kids in this neighborhood are SOL. It's kind of sad really. We've got our bowl of candies at the door, but I haven't heard any kids at the door yet..

Oh yeah, my dad walked into my room and asked:

"Where did you get that Texan hat?"

What could I say to that?

[Friday, November 7, 2003: Halloween crash.]

I went in to see if there was any more work that needed to be done, but from what I could see, I was all good. So instead, they let me take a tour of the facilities and I finally got to see the insides of the mill. It was fairly interesting actually seeing all of the components of making steel, although I had to destroy the pictures that I took because they were a security risk.

On the way to the airport, I was driving along the highway and saw a huge cloud of dust and a lot of crud on the road. A tractor trailer had just veered off the road and crashed through the bushes in the median. I stopped the car to take a look, but things seemed under control, and I needed to catch a plane, so I didn't stick around.
