[6:16 PM CST - Texas.]

Hey, I'm in one piece down here in Texas. I was planning to spend some time in San Antonio before heading out here, but the weather was pretty crappy so I went straight to the hotel. I'll be writing updates and stuff tonight so most of my time will be spent in the room. Man, it's six down here but it feels like eight! Okay, I need food..

[8:00 PM CST - I'm a trucker?]

Funny, when I went to eat dinner, the waitress asked me if I was from out of town. When I told her I was here for business, she asked me if I was a trucker. *blink*

Do I look like a trucker?!? *looks in mirror*

On the way out of the restaurant, I noticed a lot of trucks parked out in the back. Hmm, I guess there are a lot of truckers who come by here huh?

[10:25 PM CST - Well, there goes that idea.]

I've got to wake up early tomorrow, but I ended up watching TV instead of working at those updates. (Watched "Hound of the Baskervilles".)

Anyhoo, I got to the airport just a tad late this morning. I got in line for check in and noticed on the board that check ins close an hour before depature time. *looks at watch* Hmm.. ten. My flight leaves at eleven. Goody.

Fortunately, the attendent called for anyone going to my destination and I put up my hand. I was also the only person to. *hangs head*

I got through customs and security pretty quickly and ended up at the gate with forty-five minutes to spare. The flight itself was fairly uneventful. I arrived at my stopover and was a ltitle taken aback when I saw the departure table show my flight leaving from gate C31. *looks at ticket* C37. Well, it doesn't hurt to check right? Apparently gate C37 was a flight to Las Vegas, and although I plan to go there sometime in the future, I didn't think it was my final destination. C31 was it. There were a lot of gate changes while I was there, so I have no idea what was going on with their scheduling. To top it off, there was a final boarding call for my flight, when people from the plane were still getting off! Ah well, that flight ended up delayed, but it was better than having a delayed connecting flight (my connecting flight ended up early actually).

Arrival was pretty smooth and picking up the car was easy. The drive out here was uneventful, and longer than anticipated (probably because I missed a turn).

Well, time to go to sleep..

[Friday, November 7, 2003: San Antonio]

When I arrived ar San Antonio, the weather was pretty crappy. It was raining fairly hard and I was not in any mood to do any sort of exploring. So I decided to head straight to my hotel instead of exploring the city as I had first planned. I picked up my car and had to get used to driving automatic again. Some of the creature comforts were nice (like the power seat adjustment), but I'd rather be driving my car. Unfortunately, on the way out of the airport, I missed my exit and ended up going through the heart of the city. Fortunately for me, I stole a map from the rental agency and was able to find a way out and going in the right direction. It wasn't much of a detour, and since it was the weekend, I didn't have any trouble with traffic.

I got to the hotel and got settled in. I grabbed a quick bite from the restaurant next door and basically spent the rest of the night watching TV. The people were really nice around here. It's a little on the scary side, but nice is always good. (Either that or I look so obviously touristy that they can turn on the nice factor.)

Washing with soap was pretty darned slimy. Ugh! How do people get used to this slimy, unclean feel? Ick.
