Another heat emergency in as many days.. wow, this is going to be quite interesting. We've also got a warning to curb our water consumption because water levels are low from lack of rainfall. Funny, lack of water and we're sitting next to a lake for cryin out loud! Okay, I'm not keen on drinking the lake water either but still..
Well, here I was laughing at girl for going to play ultimate on the heat oppresive Monday(missing out on dinner and a movie), when of course, I had agreed to play in a rescheduled ultimate game (we were supposed to play on Monday) which happened to land on the hottest day of the year (so far)! Curses! *shakes fist*
As an extension to MJO's canned boiling water (tm), we should start producing canned cold air (tm). I sense a market in the near future..

Man, the cable's out, and it way too hot outside. Way, way, WAY too hot out there. I can't imagine ever having a day as hot and humid as today, and with the sun too! Oh man! Standing in the sun on a day like today is crazy mad! What kind of weather is this? It's just way too..

On the other hand.. I wouldn't mind it being a little warmer..

Well, ultimate was a bust. I guess being late has it's disadvantages. (I was only ten minutes late!) I got to the park and didn't see anyone I knew so I started wandering around the park. I found a couple of orange teams in the distance so I started heading in that direction after a cursory glance around the meeting area. It took five minutes to walk to the other end of the field and realize that I didn't recognize anyone from the first orange team. The next orange team was.. not it either! What the heck? I wandered back to the meeting place to make sure I didn't miss anything and still didn't pick up any clues, although I did see a(nother) Squishy lookalike (with rather muscular shoudlers) playing for one of the teams. So, I wandered back to the area where the two orange teams were because I saw that one of the teams next to them were wearing orangey shirts. No dice, red does not equal orange even for very light hues of red. So I was out of luck and out of patience and ended up going back home. Well, at least I won't be too tired for badminton tomorrow!

Argh! The ultimate game WAS canceled! Grr.. I just got the notice now. Only seven hours after it was sent. Quite annoying, and I even wore shorts today!

I was mildly surprised to discover that Toronto does, in fact, draw its water supply from Lake Ontario.

But reservoir volumes and filtration plant capacity is limited. It can't take everyone in TO spending a half hour with the hose running to get those two or three pesky leaves off the driveway. :P
