[1:23 PM EDT - IP Quickie.]

Argh! Rogers changed my IP yet again. There goes that idea of a stable static IP address. Anyway, must make this short. The network's acting up and I lost an entry already.

[6:16 PM EDT - Bad connection.]

I'm having problems with the network today. Hopefully it won't last all too long. These outages can be quite annoying.

[6:24 PM EDT - Dream Sequence: Strange dreams.]

I've been having the strangest dreams recently. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to write them down so I can't remember much except that they were strange. Like the time I was holed up in a house with a bunch of other people, trying to hold the fort while we decided how to survive the seige. I ended up following one guy and went out to do some sniper practice on some of the police patrolling the area. He took out people left, right and centre, while my piddly assault rifle wasn't up to snuff. We took down half a dozen guys before heading back into a more secure area.

Not all of my dream was violent, although there was one rather disturbing part with girls and razors.. (not violent, but disturbing). Anyway, I think all of these visions were due to my lack of sleep over the past few days. I think getting a good night's sleep is the goal for tonight.

[7:16 PM EDT - So high school.]

I was putting away the birthday cards I got (all three of them) and came across a very old Christmas card from DH. The contents of that card.. shocked me. I had forgotten about it and reading it again brought back memories and feelings from that time. It was.. it was definitely an age of innocence. It was the openess and caring message that was in that card startled me. It had startled me when I read it oh-so-many years ago, but reading something like that these days would be.. highly unlikely. I guess we grow ever more jaded as we age. Well, that at least for those of us who have seen more bad times than good. But bad times is what really defines us, and we grow because of them. Without that bad times, we never can truly appreciate the good times.

I actually went through a few of the letters I got in high school. I'm so glad I kept copies of my responses so I had an idea what the conversation was about. But looking back, I realize how.. special these relationships were, even though they're gone now. I only have one regret during that period, but it's not something I'll hold against myself. Regrets are there so that I'll never forget, and forgetting would be something I'd never forgive myself for.
