I had left some unfinished code floating around in the web site and it's taken me a day to figure out what the heck I was trying to do. I wanted to convert my recent entries code to read from the Atom feed rather than generating the information directly from the logs. This would allow me to update both the feed and that portion of the code at once when I move the data over to a database. (Whenever that might be.)
Unfortunately, some information isn't available in the feed. At least not in any usable format so I have to figure a way around it. I'm close though, but I have less than an hour to figure it out since I've got a party to attend..

Hmm, I didn't realize that the XSLT specifications were over seven years old! Version 2.0 should be out fairly soon, and it seems to have some built in date functions. Maybe I should switch to that? (Assuming that the browsers can understand it?)
Bah, I don't have any time left unfortunately. I guess I'll have to work on this some other time.

I picked up DE and headed out to the patrol party. It was being held at some bowling alley cum amusement centre. There were tons of kids around. Tons! Then there was us. I felt a little out of place having all of these kids running around, trying their best to butcher some well known songs (there was a karaoke machine in the room we were at) and just making a ruckus. But it was pretty good. We had a fairly decent turnout.
After the food and awards, we headed out to the bowling alley to play a couple of games of five pin. I hadn't played five pin in ages and it showed. Those balls are so small!

Yeah, I forgot that I also went to my hockey game. It was okay considering that our regular goalies couldn't make it. We had a couple of stand ins.. standing in net. It was good though, I really should work on my shooting..
