[9:16 PM EST - Blue Mountain.]

Howdy! I just finished dinner, which was basically right after I got back from Blue Mountain. I was supposed to go snowboarding with girl and a bunch of her friends, as well as a certain neophyte, but someone canceled, so I felt akward for being the least experienced snowboarder there (it would've been my first time) so I rented skis instead. Yes, it was also cheaper, and I needed some more practice. Actually, I wrote down on the sheet that I was a beginner (which was trueish) and the guy who was to give me my skis asked me if I wanted to get a shorter pair to work with since they would be easier to control. Hmm, how short? I took a look: Less than four feet. Oh boy, that's short. I took another pair which was longer, although were still short (158cm). They had a slightly different (parabolic) design, which I guess gives the user a bit more control, although when I first tried then, I tended to oversteer (?) when I went into the turns and ended up falling quite often. Once I got used to them however, I found them to be quite easy to handle, and even when I was bombing down the hill, I felt that I had some control at least in my descent.

Oh yeah, I ended up getting out of bed at quarter after seven so that we could make it to Blue Mountain by half-past nine. No dice, we made it there at around ten. The resort was fairly large, and approaching from the west, one had an amzaing view of the slopes. In fact, you basically get the same view as the map! The view from the top is really nice too. It's too bad I didn't bring my camera, I didn't think I'd have anything I wanted to take pictures of (as well as the fact that I didn't want to ski with my equipment).

The rest of the group I went with had boards. All six of them. I was the only skier in the pack. It felt a little odd but, considering that they were contemplating going down the diamonds (which was thwarted due to the size of the lineup for the ski lift - the other one was down) I'm glad I stuck with skis. I don't know how well I would've fared on the intermediate slopes if I was on a board. Not too well I think. It was fun though. Most of the slopes I've been on recently have been very short (Chikopee, North York) so the runs last a whole minute at most. At least here you can be skiing for more than three minutes! (Next stop will be the Laurentians, then the Costals!)

Skiing is fun I must admit, even though it's not as sweat producing as the other sports I like. Also, I didn't feel tired afterward even though I knew that I was slowly losing control near the end there when my energy reserves started to drop. I think all of that waiting in line got to me. We spent way too much time waiting for the lifts than we did eating and skiing! If we only went to the south end sooner..

Anyway, I was planning on heading out to Squishy's housewarming party later tonight, but I don't think I'll be able to make it. I know, I know, she's going to kill me, but I'll make it up some other time. *rubs chin* Maybe when I get a new car or something. Hey yeah.. *ponders that thought*

[9:21 PM EST - She's scaring me..]

Laz has thrown up something about the new area codes that will be in place in our area soon. NVM also threw up something about her growing aggressiveness. Hmm..
