[10:43 AM EDT - Time for some fixes.]

I'm going to see if I fix my log and get this plotting script to work. Then I'll try installing Win2k.. *ominous music*

[11:46 AM EDT - Mostly done.]

I've basically fixed up the logs, now I've got to play around with the script. I should fix up the search script as well so that it doesn't spit our all 2000 entry hits onto a single page. Hmm. Then there's all the cleaning up I still have to do. Gah! My work is never done!

[3:16 PM EDT - More work than anticipated.]

So I'm not even being close to done. I just finished scanning in some of the pictures that I took during Future Trek, although I probably will post one or two of them. I've started backing up my stuff on my harddrive for the eventual wipe and installation of Win2k. Oh yeah, I got the Professional version if you guys were interested.

[7:03 PM EDT - Win2k compliant.]

I've finally installed Win2k. Actually, it was much less painful than I had thought it might be. I did screw up with making my primary partition NTFS because Win98 was still on it and now I can't use any Win98 stuff. Doh! Oh well, I'm just playing aroun right now so things aren't all too bad. I plan to get a new hard drive at some point in time so I can throw the operating system onto a seperate hard drive altogether. Then I could move my stuff over.. then move the network card.. then get the router.. man! So much stuff to do! Okay, okay, okay. First thing's first though. I'm moving most of my stuff tomorrow, so I should finish my packing. Ah, too much to do..

[8:46 PM EDT - Learn from mistakes.]

Argh! I shouldn't have installed Win2k the way I installed Win2k. *grinds teeth* I was going to make a partition which I could move the operating system so I could format the main partition, but Partition Magic (5.0) won't run on Win2k! Argh! I need version 5.01! A measly 0.01 and I'm up a creek. Okay, okay.. calm down. *waves hands* Alright. I think I can get around this.. *goes back to hacking away at keyboard*

[9:25 PM EDT - Partitioning.]

I'm currently repartitioning my hard drive. *looks at time* Oh boy, this is going to take a while. In any case, Laz has a couple more links up, and has announced his desire to.. er.. teach some OAC students. *wiggles eyebrows* Sparky also has an update on how she's doing in school. Actually, I think people should go to her page and give pointers on the layout. I've been a little to busy with other stuff and never got around to responding to her reply. *hangs head* I'll get around to it eventually..

[9:30 PM EDT - Quote.]

Crap. I'm getting really hungry. *pats growling stomach* To take my mind off of food, I've been going through my e-mail (which I guess I should respond to seeing as I don't have much else to do ATM) and came across this quote from CJF,

"People love others not for who they are, but for how they make us feel."

Anyone have any idea who said this?

[9:33 PM EDT - Bright boy.]

Nevermind, I found it. It was Warren Bennis, and here's the full quote,

"If you think about it, people love others not for who they are, but for how they make us feel. We willingly follow others for much the same reason -- it makes us feel good to do so."

Which has a different feel than the clipped quote.

[9:40 PM EDT - Less bright.]

What the.. dang, this cross-referencing thing is always a good idea. Darned first hit is always an orphan. I've seen six other pages which have an even MORE complete quote. However, this quote is credited to Irwin Federman.

"If you think about it, people love others not for who they are, but for how they make us feel. We willingly follow others for much the same reason. It make's us feel good to do so. Now, we also follow platoon sergeants, self-centered geniuses, demanding spouses, bosses of various persuasions and others, for a variety of reasons as well. But none of those reasons involves that person's leadership qualities. In order to willingly accept the direction of another individual, it must feel good to do so. This business of making another person feel good in the unspectacular course of his daily comings and goings is, in my view, the very essence of leadership."

Dang, I hate it when my first pick is wrong.

[11:51 PM EDT - Take two.]

I'm nearly finished reinstalling Win2k. I was able to successfully repartition my hard drive and then use the new partition as the new location for the operating system. Now all I have to do is to reformat the old operating system partition and then start reinstalling software. Oi.. this is going to take some time..

Oh, while I'm here, I came across an old (and fairly simple) little riddle:

What letter comes next in this series? W L C N I T _?

This is assuming of course that none of you have seen this before..
