Man, it's great to be able to get in before other people. Although I'm not the first one in today, at least I'm not the last! As I was passing by the gas station on the way to school yesterday, I noticed that the gas prices had dropped significantly. The price at GTO was 66.6 cents per liter, while the Shell across the street was 0.3 cents higher. I figured that the energy crisis was starting to abate. When I walked home twelve hours later, the prices were 73.2 and 73.5 cents per liter (respectively). Gah! That's a ten percent increase! In half a day! I'm so glad I don't drive..
I'm planning to stick the search thing onto the journal at some point now that the engine mostly works. I don't think I have time right now to fix up the output, but we'll see.

We took weirDo out for lunch today. He had a craving for pizza so we went out to the local Pizza Hut and chomped on their lunchtime buffet special. A filling meal, and cheap to boot!
I've been doing some page checking and it seems like Jax has been busy with an update. I can't picture her being a brownie, but eating them on the other hand..
There's a link on ArsTechnica to some article about some sort of NASA invention that reduces the stress level in games. That's pretty cool. I think that might help a lot of people who have trouble keeping their cool when blowing things up..
I've been thinking of getting myself a router (the Linksys BEFSR41 to be precise). girl's been thinking of getting broadband for the house, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a high bandwidth connection when I move out, so investing in one of these badboys could be a good idea. Of course, I also have to get more memory, perhaps a new monitor, etc. This means I need a job. *sigh*
Oh yeah, I wore shoes today. After wearing sandals for so long, wearing shoes seems.. confining. My feet also feel a little too warm in them as well. *watches as it rains outside* Yay. Nice coincidence.

I got my hands on a copy of MDK 2. I hope to finish it before I get out of here (which means I've got a lot of playing tonight). weirDo said that it was a fun game, and I know that Growly and Laz both had fun playing the original a couple of years back. I never actually got around to playing MDK (which stands for Max, Doctor Hawkins, and Kurt for those of you wondering) so this should be good..

This is the season for parties all right. I've been invited to some sort of "I got a new job" party tomorrow. It won't interfere with the BBQ, but it means that my whole Saturday is shot. I've got some stuff to do and.. man, I dunno. I think I'll just sleep on it.

My most recent paper has just been published. Yay! Well, I'm not the only author on it, but seeing as this is my third paper so far, I consider it an accomplishment! *nods* I've added it to my CV so you guys can check it out if you REALLY want to be bored to death.

I love the Charlie's Angels reference on the MDK 2 setup. This is going to be good. It reminded me of watching the show when I was a kid. Mind you, I don't remember a thing except for the silhouette, but I do remember watching it. *thinks* Either that, or those memories were implanted into my brain the last time I got abducted. *shrugs* Anyway, speaking of Charlie's Angels, the Charlie's Angels movie should be coming out at some point in time. At least I think they're working on it. If it's anything like the Avengers..
While I'm on the topic of movies. Apparently there's a rumour that the Simpsons movie is going to be made. This is good news! I think. Well, the Simpsons is a great show, but recently, most of the episodes have been fairly.. lame. Most of the Simpson's quotes that I remember are from the first few seasons, although there are a few nuggets from the more recent shows.

MDK 2's a pretty fun game. Some of the puzzles are rather tough however, but it's still quite enjoyable. In any case, it's getting late, and I should get up at some sort of respectable time tomorrow so I'm heading home.
