[1:24 PM EDT - Lunch break.]

girl's on a lunch break right now so I have a bit of time with the cable modem. (Must get LAN set up soon!) Anyhoo, I've been spending the morning cleaning up my room and setting up my computer (and sleeping, but that's a given). I finally put my system back together again, and will take the plunge at installing Linux on my old pentium box. This is going to be interesting. I was told a rumour that the cable modem people here are actually given static IP addresses despite being on DHCP. I haven't checked my connection yet, but I want to hear from other people who do have cable modems. Is this true?

My allergies are still chugging along *waiting for first frost* but today, while I was blowing my nose (Err, those who are squeamish should skip to the next paragraph), anyway, while I was blowing my nose, I ended out blowing out quite a bit of blood. Annoying. That means I have to walk around with a stubbed ub nose until the bleeding stops. The first time I had ever done something like that was years ago, and it kind of freaked me out. Now it's an annual thing, sort of expected when the allergy season peaks. It can't get much worse than this.. *faints*

Also, while I was updating my books, I found out that my numbers came out a couple of dollars short. Going through my receipts again, I found out that on one of the bills, I had tipped a $26.39 meal $3.50. Alright, that's not so fantastic, until I saw the total. $31.89. What the? Geez. I'm just glad I didn't move the decimal place over by accident instead..

<- checks totals more diligently from now on.

Okay, time to do some e-mail and set up that Linux box..

Reasonably true.. I've only gone through 2 or 3 ips in the last year. It does change at random times, but not very often.

Over here, the plan is that ADSL users will have their IPs changed every three hours or so.

Surely you kids could share the bandwidth, couldn't you? All ya need is a hub and some ethernet cards...

Typo: intresting

Static IP ? in T.O. ? don't bet on it. A friend of mine just got forcibly pushed onto DHCP and he lives in York Mills (.ym1.on.wave.home.com)
