[11:10 AM EDT - Arrived alive.]

Despite my usual blackouts and poor driving on nighttime roads, I was able to make it home in one piece. Actually, I knew that I was going to be running low on gas on the way back, so I tried to balance out driving time (because I didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel) with fuel efficiency (because I didn't want to push the car at one in the morning). It sort of worked, until I was halfway through the city. The gas gauge was already riding the empty line, and the "check gauges" light had turned on. *sweat drop* A few moments later, the road started going downhill, and the light went off. *wipes brow* A little while later, I was going uphill again and the light came back on again. *grabs handkerchief* Then I was on level ground and the light stayed on. *wipes sweat* This went on for quite a number of minutes until I got off the highway, when the light went back off again. It wasn't long before the light went back on and stayed on. Fortunately, I was able to make it to the gas station without needing a lift. (Got 582.2 km on that tank.) Whew!

[11:45 AM EDT - My grain.]

I've got a slight headache ATM. I got it while driving back home last night. The first time I remember feeling it was when I was taking it easy in the fast lane, passing by some slow driver, when I wake up and realize that there was some guy right on my rear bumper! The adrenaline rush woke me up and I pushed the pedal to let the guy pass, but afterward, I was very much awake for the rest of the ride. I think it also gave me that mild brain cramp, and I don't think I had enough sleep last night to get rid of it. *blinks* I need more sleep. *yawn*

[3:36 PM EDT - Cooling down.]

I just came back from blading a bit. It's a lot warmer out there than it looks folks! I'm still trying to cool down in my room..

Some comments about the broomball thing last night. First of all, when playing broomball at the university, the level of play is fairly low. There's no contact, and very few skilled players to play against. That means that the equipment that I have, helmet, gloves, kneepads are generally enough for protection. However, when playing against these folks, they're all decked out in full hockey armor, and they play physically. This means that someone like me will get squished very quickly. Secondly, some of those people (like the one who wasn't practicing) can shoot bullets. The guy I was passing with was giving me (very accurate) passes from his side of the rink that were hit so hard that the ball drifted (in midair) as it crossed the rink. I couldn't tell where the heck it was heading, but I sure didn't want to be hit in the more sensitive areas..

All this goes to show is the huge difference in the level of playing between the crowd I usually play with, and these folks. Scary.

[8:09 PM EDT - Full.]

I'm pretty stuffed. I had a fairly big meal since I was the last at the table. I wasn't able to finish everything though. *rubs overinflated belly*

Laz and KGL both have updates up for those of you interested.

[9:46 PM EDT - The Puppet Masters.]

After finishing off some skirmishes against the computer in Cataclysm, I decided to continue with cleaning up my (still quite messy) room. While I was going through some of the books that I never read, I came across "The Puppet Masters" by sci-fi great Heinlein. (Who I was told made a bet with Hubbard to see who could be the first to create a new religion. Someone please confirm.)

With the tone already seat by Cataclysm, I figured that I might as well dive right in. I hope to finish the book in a couple of days..
