[10:51 AM EDT - Howdy.]

Not much to say. I got up earlier than I had expected (although I'm still really tired). I should get cleaned up. There's probably some interesting news on the wire..

[2:57 PM EDT - The Shockwave Rider.]

I finished off the second part of "The Shockwave Rider" and the book's taken a slightly different turn. It more-or-less focuses on the datanet (their version of the internet) and the problems with diminishing privacy with increasing convenience. It also takes a look at how those who control the information can control the population. I guess it's more of a look at the difference at directing and controlling. To think we're all heading in that direction.. (Life imitating "A Resounding Tinkle"?)

[5:46 PM EDT - Tat tvam asi.]

I've finished reading "The Shockwave Rider". It was pretty interesting, and the last part of the book had more of an entertainment slant than a philosophical one. It gives a fairly eerily probable prediction of a possible future considering that it was written in 1975, and.. ah geez, I forgot the quote. I think it was Porter who coined. First it was the legs race, then it was the arms race, now we're in the brain race. (Hopefully we'll finally have the human race.)

Maybe I'll go look it up to make sure.

In any case, I'm going to check out what Kung Fu is like. *stretches atrophying muscles* I hope I don't kill myself..

[10:37 PM EDT - Chung Wah.]

I ache. I ache all over. I think I'm going to collapse. I haven't done this type of exercise in quite a long time and it shows. I thought I was going to puke in the middle of the routine after having one (or four) too many cups of cold water. Fortunately, I was able to keep my lunch in check.

Anyway, the lesson was interesting, and quite different than the Aiki-Jujitsu I took ages past. Too bad the forms don't compliment each other that well..

Anyway, if you're tired and want to listen to someone else talk about themselves, you can check out Laz's page, which seems to be the only one recently updated.
