I spent most of the day playing Homeworld: Cataclysm while waiting for the phone call that never came (during the day). The weather was bitterly cold for some reason and I wasn't really in the mood to go out and freeze my butt off without any confirmation of arrival. As it started to become apparent that I wasn't going to be getting any phone call, I was convinced by girl to go downtown to go and throw the disc around a bit (and at least get out of the house and get some exercise).
We headed down to the same park where we went to throw the disc around a few days ago, and proceeded to.. throw the disc around again (in anticipation of playing a game of ultimate). We never got around to playing anything because by the time people showed up, it was already getting dark.
We headed to a restaurant known as Pasta Perfection for dinner. On the way in, there's a sign painted on the wall stating:
"Can't walk pasta place."
*groan* It was so bad I had to write it down. Anyway, I had some fetuchine carbonara and it was fairly good. I generally put a lot more sauce on my pasta, but then again, I put a lot of stuff on my plate. *pats stomach*
Afterward, we went back to someone's apartment and talked for a while before heading back home. It was during dinner when I remembered that I also tried carob for the first time the last time we went downtown. Magnifica had told me about this stuff a number of times years ago, but I never believed that I would ever bump into this stuff. Well, after we had walked through Kensington market, we went by this health store which was selling this granola bar stuff which used carob instead of chocolate. HR wanted me to try some of the stuff, so I reluctantly agreed. It was.. okay. It didn't really have that much of a taste actually. I still prefer chocolate because it's a little more creamy and sweet than this carob stuff, but then again, people have been working at perfecting chocolate for a while now..
Another thing I remembered was a conversation I had with CJF and one of her friends a couple of weeks ago. Her friend mentioned that one of the questions that bugged him, which he asked all of his girlfriends was why girls don't like guys leaving the toilet seat up. CJF couldn't come up with an acceptable answer to it, and we ridiculed her for a little while before we continued on and found out that in some girl's washrooms, there are actually couches to sit on. What the hey? I know there are girls who read this. Is this a normal thing?
Anyway, it was an okay day despite not actually getting in touch with the person I wanted to talk to. Eh, there's always next time..

Oh yes, the couches in the women's washroom... The vanity area in the University Club's facilities comes to mind: a counter where you seat yourself to fix your make-up, etc. Some restaurants and country clubs have an antechamber where there are easychairs and tables (I have pictures as proof), but I really don't know why anyone would want to dawdle in there. Did you know about the room within a washroom at ESC (the "lab")? A tempting place for a quick nap.

As someone who has spent most of his life being outnumbered, gender-wise, I can say that one of the more likely reasons female-type persons don't like the toilet seat left up is because they are afraid that, in a sleep-induced stupor in the middle of the night, the might just fall in. I can attest to the fact that this does occasionally happen. Although usually only once. :)
