[Monday, August 7, 2000: "If you strike me down.."]

I didn't have anything planned for the day before the wedding. Mind you, I usually go back to Toronto without much in the way of plans anyway. I guess today wasn't much different than a normal weekend back in Toronto for me. I tried calling up MPS, who wasn't home, and gave Laz a call to see what he was doing. Apparently, Growly was coming to town, so I decided to hook up and go downtown with them. (And lend Laz my copy of Diablo 2 of course.)

Having those two around in the same general area usually means that something interesting will happen. The one event that sticks into my mind the most was the drive on the DVP. (The other two witnesses could clear up some inconsistencies or omissions in the comments.) We had just cleared a large traffic jam and Laz noticed this white limousine that we passed by on the inside lane. I looked over and noticed that one of the windows was rolled down. I couldn't see very much, but Laz said that he thought he saw a couple of girls inside. Oh really? I couldn't really confirm or deny, my eyesight should never be trusted, but then I noticed that we stopped passing the limo, and mentioned,

"Uh, the limo's catching up guys."

Sure enough, we started creeping back (or the limo crept forward, whichever way you want to look at it), inch by inch, until my window was nearly level with the limo's open window. For some reason, all three of us looked over to the right (to check to see if Laz was right I guess), and watched (to my amusement at least) as the window was slowly being rolled up. I couldn't stop laughing. Could we have been any more obvious? Laz muttered something to the effect of,

We didn't ALL have to look at the same time!

With that, we drove off. I think I should buy tinted windows for Growly's car for his birthday. (BTW, we had tinted windows last week when we were ogling girls on the street in the mini.)

Afterward, we went down to the Eaton's Centre to do some shopping. Growly and Laz were discussing between themselves about one of the girls in front of us that looked familiar (not to me though, I didn't know who they were talking about). After a few minutes of following them around (well, we weren't following following, they just happened to be in front of us all that time), they figured that it wasn't who they thought it was. Afterward, Growly looked at me and said something about whether I was going to write this down this entry like my other people recognition entries (although I think he had a specific person in mind..). Erm. I don't really remember all to much of what was said, I was in a daze for most of the weekend.

Anyway, afterward, I went out to a family gathering thing for our newborn.. er.. cousin's son. I forgot what it was called, but it's held one month after the kid's birth. Does anyone know?

I got the pictures from the last half of the Future Trek thing developed. Sure enough, I have a picture of the velobus in there, so I think I'll scan that in. I might also scan in a few pictures from our hike down, up, down, and up the bluffs last year. They're non standard size so I couldn't fit them into my photo album. However, they're pretty cool shots of part of the bluffs and some of the areas we were in so I might throw them in somewhere..
