[10:28 AM EDT - Earlier.]

The weather's pretty crappy again this morning. I checked with the weather channel and apparently this weekend is supposed to be good (this afternoon as well) so I brought along my blades. You never know.

A couple of things I should mention: I saw DF at the library yesterday. I thought that he had graduated already and left but he was still doing some schooling here. He's done now, but I didn't have time to ask him where he was going. I also stayed up late last night channel surfing when I came across this movie which starred Bruce Campbell and Walter Koenig. What a weird combination: "Hail to the keptin." Didn't watch much. It was a sci-fi flick which had a moderately low budget. It also had something to do with the moon. That's all I remember.

This morning I finished off the last of my (four) eggs. Now the only non-bottled food left from our ill-fated fridge is the battered haddock I've been slowly going through. Four pieces left!

Oh yeah, I was watching the weather channel this morning (I guess I mentioned that already) and they were talking about a tropical storm that was brewing in south-east Asia. Apparently it had grown strong enough to be given a name, the name being "Long Wang". The announcers had a good time mentioning that.

Let's see what I can get done today.

[1:23 PM EDT - LD auction.]

Found out from KNZ the selling price of that LD being auctioned off a couple of days ago.

And the final bid price: $1380.55 US. For a 15-minute LD. Yowza.

Geez, it might've been rare, but for a 15-minute CD?!?

[2:20 PM EDT - Stirling Engine.]

After a bit of discussion with weirDo about engines (sparked by the heat pump diagram on my board), he directed me to a link on Stirling Engines. Pretty cool site. I want a Stirling engine powered car!

[2:44 PM EDT - Goat webs.]

Found an interesting link on the ShackNews on a bunch of Canadian scientists (proud to be a Canadian scientist) who got goats to produce spider webs. It's pretty cool.

[5:28 PM EDT - Gotta go.]

Well, my ride should be here so I'm gonna go now. Hopefully I'll drop by Suspect Video so I can pick up some tapes. I want to see what new things they have there..

[Monday, May 22, 2000: Standing around.]

The ride home was fairly uneventful. TP was listening to the radio (I can't remember what station it was, but it wasn't one of my normal ones) and I heared the announcer say something about Vertical Horizon. Hmm.. that sounded familiar, so I listened to the music. Couldn't place the music. I listened to the lyrics..

Then it hit me. *thud* Ow.

This was one of the songs that KGL put up on her page! Yeah! Interesting song (kinda on the sad side, but interesting nonetheless).

Oh yeah, I also watched this plane land as we were passing by Pearson International Airport. I actually saw three planes on the way back (which could've been the same plane for all I know).

After I got dropped off, I decided to pass by Suspect Video to see what new tapes they had in stock (not too much I'm afraid). I wanted to see if they had Trigun or Kenshin but I was out of luck. On the final leg of my journey back, I was standing (as usual) on the bus. As the bus was fairly full, I was usurped from my normal position in the "standing" zone of the bus and stood out in the middle. Right next to me were these two kids. They were watching me and talking about me (loud enough so that I could hear). How do I know that they were talking about me? Well, they were muttering things like "Look! He's not holding on to anything." and "How does he do that?" and "Maybe because those things (my blades) are heavy.". Yada, yada, yada. After a few minutes talking between themselves, one of the kids finally came up with the courage to ask me,

"Excuse me, how do you do that?"

Figuring that I shouldn't condone what I do I replied,

"Lots of practice."

My little brushoff probably wasn't enough to deter him since he started letting go of the saftey bar and tried to balance without any other support. Realizing that his dad was sitting nearby (and the fact that a sudden stop would send the boy careening down the bus) I added,

"I wouldn't suggest doing it though, it's dangerous."

At which point he stopped trying. Whew! Dodged a bullet there (although he might be trying it out at this moment.. oh well).

Hmm.. I guess the trip back wasn't as uneventful as I thought.

I didn't do much that night. Should've phoned people up, but I wasn't in the mood.
