[1:04 AM EST - Working on Ajax.]

I'm slowly trying to understand Ajax and found that the method that does not use XmlHttpRequest seems to work! The simple commands are simple enough, but what I want to do is to parse feeds and display them. This should be fairly easy with PHP now that I have a way to do it. I think I'll be working on that on Boxing day.

[3:17 PM EST - Basic Ajax.]

I finally got the Ajax thing up and running, thanks to some code I found on this site.

I still have some formatting to do, but it seems as if the page can load without needing to look up all of that information at once. Unfortunately, it is a little slow, and since it goes through my server, I'm going to have to think of redoing it to use the XmlHttpRequest since the information does not actually reside on my server.

*rubs chin*

Yes, that would also mean a lot more javascript. Ah well, I'll have to figure out something some other time. I'm too tired right now.

[10:40 PM EST - Run on load.]

Right. I added the Ajax stuff to the onload function, and now it seems to be working in IE as well as Firefox. It seems like a cumbersome way of doing it, but it does not crash IE, which was what I was aiming for in the first place.

I still have quite a bit of tweaking over the next few days, but I do not think I will have a lot of time to work on it. My vacation is over and I have to earn my pay again..

[Wednesday, December 27, 2006: This is Enterprise.]

I was watching some of the Star Trek: Enterprise episodes being shown during the Space marathon. The one which they had the mirror universe was quite interesting, and I'm not just talking about the scantly clad women.

When I saw Zefram Cochrane put his hand in his jacket, I was thinking. "Now what? Is he going to pull out a gun?".

Well, no wonder why the episode was voted as the best in the series. It caught me off guard.
