[8:19 AM EST - It is alive again!]

My mouse died last night. I am pretty sure that the batteries went kaput. I tried replacing them but that did not seem to work out either, so I plugged in my wired mouse to shut down the computer while I recharged my batteries.

This morning when I put the freshly charged batteries, I still had the same problem: The mouse did not respond. Mind you, the software was telling me that the batteries were good, which meant that there was some sort of signal coming from the mouse.

It took a while before I decided to press the reset button and the mouse works again!

[9:35 AM EST - I have graduated to Basketball.]

I had my orthodontic checkup this morning and I got some more wires and straps added to my braces. In addition, I have even smaller elastics than before. Mind you, they do not actually feel all that tight. My teeth are apparently upright now. All that needs to be done now is to reposition them..

[9:38 AM EST - Wrong week.]

Whoops. I had originally thought that the broomball and badminton Christmas dinners were this week, but apparently I was wrong. They are both being held next week, which is good since I do not think that I have any other dinner plans next week. (It also spreads the free food around so that I do not get all my meals in one week.)

As a side note, my right shoulder is quite sore from the activity from the past three nights.

[Tuesday, December 19, 2006: Party ride.]

I rode to work today because I had to take advantage of the amazing weather we were having. The temperature was over ten degrees and it was sunny! How often does that happen in December?

Because of that, I had to ride to the party. There was no way I was able to be able to go home, change, and than drive back up. So the choice was: Change and ride, or ride and change. I decided to change first and see how it was like to ride over in a tie and slacks. It wasn't so bad actually. I won't be overly afraid to ride around in more formal wear now, although the tie did feel a little restrictive.

I did get a number of stares when I got to the party, but nothing I couldn't handle. Heck, on the way out one of the cute waitresses started asking me questions about the bike, and than told me that she was a vegetarian for some reason.

The party was okay. The food was okay (well, my food was okay), and everybody won a door prize (I got a 2GB USB key.) I wanted to pick up a iPod shuffle, but they were all gone by the time I got up to the table.

The ride back was fairly uneventful. I knew that it was supposed to rain overnight, but I had lost track of time and got outside just after it started raining. It didn't last long fortunately, so I did not end up getting soaked to the bone on the way home.
