The TTC will be introducing new tokens next year to combat counterfeiting. Old tokens will not longer be accepted soon after, but you can exchange them at various subway stations.

I mention this because I have one of the old 1954 tokens in my possession. I'm not sure if I should keep it or exchange it as it will be pretty much worthless in a year's time. (Any token collectors out there?)

[Monday, November 27, 2006: Poker uptown and eater downtown.]

I had a scheduled poker game this afternoon and I was not sure if people were showing up to my place tonight for some poker action as well. However, from the responses on the forum, I was mostly sure that people were not coming, which would have left me with the entire night free to do other stuff (like sleep and clean up).

The first poker game went fairly well. I played good and did not lose any money. (Which was my goal.) We were playing a cash game and not tournament style so this was more along the way I usually play: conservative. With the blinds holding still, it allowed me to play a lot of hands which a rising blind would have stopped. I did finish up, but I put my winnings to the house. It was not worth the hassle of counting change.

I ended up getting a call from TN asking me what I was doing tonight. Since I could not come up with an excuse, I was convinced to do something tonight.

Fortunately, I was able to convince them to go and eat rather than go clubbing, so we met and had some dinner. I was not very hungry, since I had six french toasts this morning (well, two half toasts) plus an omelet and I decided to go easy. It was a little embarrassing to eat dinner with three teenage girls with all three of them ordering way more food than I!

I'd like to add that I finished all of my food while they ate less than half of theirs. (And they wonder why they never have any money..)

It was funny though, the new girl I met was shocked when I told her how old I was. She thought I was twenty-one!

I blame it all on anchoring.

Actually, the restaurant was full of teens, so I felt a little out of place, but hey, I didn't mind the eye candy..

As we were leaving, another group of kids came to the restaurant and apparently knew the new girl. The girls were chatting about.. uh.. feminine hygiene, so I turned to the one guy and asked him if he had something non-period related to talk about. He commented about my bike, so we talked about that for a while. (Motorcycles are such a conversation piece are they not?)

I went home after that and still had time to finish up my cleaning. I finished most of my chores so I was pretty happy. It's too bad I did not have anyone come over, but I should keep inviting people just so that I force myself to keep the apartment clean..
