[11:04 PM EST - Back on Continent.]

Hey hey! I'm back on this side of the pond. I'm still catching up on e-mail so I won't be doing many updates anytime soon..

[Tuesday, December 10, 2002: Going back.. east?]

I got up early today despite having a mid-afternoon flight. This gave me plenty of time to finish packing and eat some food. We got to the airport (via the MTR) without a hitch and the airport express was so comfortable and convenient. Too bad we don't have something like that in TO. (Well, there were plans for an LRT a few years ago but it got scrapped with the budget cuts.)

We had lunch at the Spaghetti House in the airport and I found a Canadian nickel on the floor in one of the many airport washrooms.

The plane ride back was uneventful. I wasn't really feeling all too hot, and even though the flight was actually six hours shorter than the flight to Hong Kong, it felt like a LOT longer. I ended up watching "Summer Breeze of Love", the beginning of "Insomnia" (something went wrong and they switched movies to..), "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", and "Blue Crush". ("Blue Crush" definitely kept me up. *wiggles eyebrows*)

I didn't get that much sleep on the plane. There weren't any screaming children, but I wasn't feeling all too hot. In fact, I skipped out on food in the last few hours because I didn't think I'd be able to keep it down. *holds belly*

We had a heavy fog when we landed in Vancouver. It was like a frothy ocean, and we were diving into the middle of it. I was a little worried that the visibility would be very low, and I was right. Fortunately, we didn't crash or anything. In hindsight, I probably should've taken some pictures.

As we were getting off the plane, we were told to have our documents ready and we were immediately screened by a couple of security guards. The airport seemed to be at high alert because the lineups at customs was HUGE. Fortunately I got there just before the big rush, but boy it took a while to get through. As I went through customs, I got pulled over and told to go into a seperate inspection area where they checked my goods. It wasn't like I had much to bring over, but perhaps it was the fact that I wrote down that I was on a farm in the past two weeks. (Which is true, kinda.) The lady was pretty nice though so I have no complaints, and I answered all her questions in my usual goofy way. I was eventually released and I was able to catch my plane however, with just a few minutes before we started to board.

The last leg of the trip was just as boring. I ended up getting a bit of sleep, but for the most part, just vegged.
